That barely works in high school, yet Brock Mathis lets it happen.
Jesus Christ why doesn't Garza get a chance back there. Mathis is the worst catcher we've had in a decade.
ETA: and i'm someone who doesn't care about midweek games at all. It doesn't matter. People always say Mathis "takes a beating back there." Who gives a shite if the ball hits him in the chest and rolls to the dugout. That's not getting the job done. At this level you're expected to block those balls and block them straight back in front of you.
Imagine him trying to catch a knuckle curve from Lange
