I thought Garza was back? Didn't he catch some midweek about a month ago?
he caught just a few innings several weeks ago. I'm assuming he didn't feel right, and he didn't look comfortable either.

I can’t wait for the Astros game to start so I can watch baseball that doesn’t make my fricking eyes bleed.

Mathis, Smith, DiGiacomo due up in the bottom of the 3rd
ULL leads 3-0

When you consider that the weekend series was away in 40 something degree weather with a 1/3 of the team hurt, its not that embarassing

Mathis is the worst catcher we've had in a decade.
lol, nah.
2010 - Gibbs
2011 - Ross/Snikeris
2012 - Ross
2013 - Ross
2014 - Scivicque/Chinea/Moore
2015 - Scivique/Pap
2016 - Papierski
2017 - Papierski
2018 - Coomes/Feduccia
A lot of these guys were less than stellar at the plate, but most of them were at LEAST okay defensively.

Agree 100%. We set a all time pass ball record or something last year.
I feel bad for Mathis, dude is giving it 100% all the time.

Did he have a setback?

I should have prefaced, he's the worst starting catcher we've had in a decade.
While Romero wasn't good behind the plate, at least he provided SOME offense. Pap was the starting catcher by the time the post season rolled around. Romero played less than 20 games as a catcher.

Experience? Maybe more than one inning dipshit so they can actually get acclimated to the game they are pitching in. You think tossing Costello out there for an inning helps him. frick no it doesn’t help any pitcher. I’m all for getting experience but give them more innings during the game.

We've also been really spoiled at that position the last 10+ years
