But what if the first half of the game was called even close to evenly? They don't really have a leg to stand on. They're just so used to getting every call, right or wrong, that they can't handle when something isn't bent their way.

This just goes to show how silly it is to point to one call or no-call as the reason for a team losing. There are calls that go both ways throughout the course of a game which alter the outcome. Also, UK could have just NOT gotten absolutely manhandled by LSU in the 2nd half and they wouldn't have had to worry about a questionable no-call at the end. And that's what it was. Questionable. And if we're being honest, LSU wasn't going to lose that one in overtime.

Going away isn't a thing and the ball was clearly inside the cylinder.

I would say it more than likely was in the cylinder. Clearly? Eh... The angle we have from "above" the goal is at kind of an angle which could be a bit ambiguous.

Either way, it's far from an egregious no-call at full speed. And as you mentioned, not reviewable.

No, it was clearly in.

Oh of course. No way would I fault any ref for calling it either way.

Was it as clearly in as were the 2 Cats having their hands inside the rim 3-4 seconds before? That is an automatic goal tend, 2 points, game over with no controversy. Sorry, not so clear to me and my opinion is just as valid as yours. LSU won the game, that is an unchangeable fact.

I don't think that's an automatic goal tend. I think it depends on where the ball was at the time.

That is not an automatic goal tend. The rule is clear on that one as well. It was not interference on the UK player.

Google is so goddamn easy, just read the rule.

I was wrong last night, I did not understand the rule. I read the rule. It was goaltending on Williams, we got away with a bang bang call.

There is no asterisk by the win. It is just a win, I love it.

It was OFF the rim. It was arguably, in my opinion, still within the cylinder, though the camera angles are a little wonky and I don't think it is as clear as others are leading on. Obviously a bang-bang call and it went our way and not reviewable. One of many bang bang calls that occur in a given game. We win. frick em

A ball that off the rim is never called basket interference. It has to be sitting on the rim or right over it. That play happens a couple of times a game. Just because it was the last play doesn’t make it controversial.

That he’ll was way over the tin and was a legal tap in... it was in front of basket as well.... I would say the same thing if UK had tapped it in.... this was a no brainer.

Like Saints fans? The Saints call is called 99% of the time. That goal-tending call is rarely called.

It looked to me like it was in the cylinder. I agree with what others have said in that it is typically not a call you will see officials make when the ball is clearly bouncing out of the goal and away from the rim. But by the official letter of the rule, it arguably should have been basket interference and no basket because the ball appeared to be still within the mythical cylinder when we tipped it in. I hate the rule, but that is the rule, by its letter. I agree with the officials eating the whistle but I also kinda get where UK fans are coming from. All in all a fair no call in our favor.

I really don’t remember how close to the end of the game it was...but the non call against the UK player that was blatantly over the back of NAZ makes me not really care if we got the benefit of a non call on offensive goal tending. We won fair and square..period. UK has had so many benefits of the doubt throughout the years that they should just suck it.

This. It was before the tip. If there was a review this would have been seen. Basket awarded, game over. LSU wins

Kavell Bigby-Williams’ tip-in at the buzzer did give LSU only its second victory at Kentucky since 1989. Or did it?

Actually it was our third...must have erased 2009 from their records.
