Fact is that LSU has won 4 of the past 7 meetings with UF. Since 2002, LSU is 2-2 at UF and 2-1 at home.

Does it really matter what happened in 1993?

The original Gaytor spoke of winning 10 of 16 (.625 win %) and you say 9-5 (.556 win %). I don't see either as being impressive

I'm responding to the fans in this thread that got all defensive. They said that UF could only talk about the 80's and on. They act as if LSU destroyed them before that, which is not true. It's a close series. UF has always played LSU well.

Fact. LSU has a much longer history of winning trophies than UF.

Fact. LSU and UF didn't play every year pre-1980 like they do now. Its LSU's fault though for sucking for most of the 1980s and 1990's while UF became a top program.

Opinion: If LSU and UF had played every year since the start of the SEC, LSU would probably still lead the series.

The UF poster lists results from 1980-2008 and assumes that based on those results, LSU needs a miracle to win in 2009. So why can't we be defensive towards that?

LSU won at home vs Florida 48-7 in 1971 and 37-14 in 1977.Those games make as much of a point at the 1993 game.

so Brantley is going to be able to move the ball on LSU to the tune of 30 points? Ugh. No.

That's not true. LSU won the SEC twice in the 80's (only once in the 70's) and we had the best record in the SEC from 1984-1988.

Your right. I shouldn't focus on 1989. (That was my first year at LSU)

It took Florida longer than any other SEC team to win an SEC Title (except Vandy, who still hasn't won one. )

PS..you're going down in two days, enjoy.

I blame you, then, for the bad years. 1989 was only one year, not most of the 80's. We had 7 winning seasons and 3 losing seasons, went to 6 bowl games, 3 of them Major Bowls.

Dude, I'm not crapping on them. There is nothing wrong with being honest. UF is what it is. They dominated us in the 90's, and they played us tight before that. They are a good football program.

before 1980 the teams have met in ts 14times
lsu has won 9 of those times
lsu has held florida t o13 points or less 9 times
lsu shut them out 2 times
lsu has held florida to single digits 8 times
lsu has scored 30 or more 2 times
lsu has won by a margin of 14 or more points 6 times(41,23,22,21,19,17)

just some good blackened gator for thought. i think florida needs more than a miracle, we talk with confidence because we have it. i will be back to eat gator after the game.

Actually, it was my fault. My high school only won 2 games my four years in school - TOTAL. After I graduated, they very shortly made their fist playoff appearance in several years.

I showed up at LSU, and from 1990 - 1994 I was in school and they did not have a single winning season. My first year out of school was 1995, when the Magic was Brought Back.

Sorry.

Or, we can blame Bret Favre. That's fun.

Acutally no they weren't It's was a very close series. LSU was 14-10-2 aganist them. Again, not that impressive. UF has always played good aganist LSU.

I really don't understand what ANY of this has to do with Saturday's game, but ALL-TIME LSU is actually 23-29-3. Not impressive on UF's part considering how they dominated during Spurriers' reign and they also had a period where they won about 9 in a row.
