Home and home? Your AD can’t really believe this is possible. I agree UCF is better than most people give credit. However, 2 good years will not get you home and home games. It’s either go on the road or keep the excuse “no one wants to play us”

sorry but big programs aren't doing a home and home with a program that has 45,000 capacity stadium. You might be able to get a home and neutral site (in Orlando).

Go play someone on the road or you can just keep using the excuse that no one wants to do a home and home.

Look at FSU in the 80's and late 70's. You have to be willing to be road warriors for a few years.

Study what Florida State did in the late 1970's and use that as your road map. They went on the road and played elite competition for years until they were given the respect they earned and deserved. Home and home is a pipe dream that is not possible today for UCF so do the road thing. It's the only path other than joining a better conference. If I were the AD both of those approaches would be in full gear.

How do you not ‘buy in’ to the National Championship when it’s in the NCAA record books? Lmao.

They go to UCF because the big boys didn’t recruit them.

LSU could claim 10 more championships if every shitty poll was claimed. Alabama won the title game and #1 in both major polls. Your school is shite. Your team is shite.

Pretty reasonable argument. I have a good friend that's an UCF grad that lives in Stuart and the trash talk has started. Bottom line is LSU is wo 7 defensive starters for this game from the opening weekend. I think the key is our offense vs. your defense. From what I can tell online your D line averages 275 per man. Our offensive line is close to and Average of 320. That's just too much. If I were Coach O I would simply run run run the first half and by the end of the 3rd q UCF would be toast. They will try to get cute with our O and probably screw up the game rather than just win. Coach O lost about $250-400k losing to TAM. $100k bonus for 10 regular season wins, and I think $150k for coach of the year SEC and maybe another $150k for National Coach of the Year. He did sneak in $150K for a NY6 bowl game that it could have cost him.

As far as UCF being National Champions, the best yard stick would be go look at Utah the three years before they joined the Pac12 and the three years since. They were winning 10+ games every year before and are averaging 7 or 8 now. And the SEC is way tougher. You can't get beat up 12 weeks a year and sustain such a winning record. The playoff needs to be 8, that settles all arguments. Even 6 would be better, add two wild card teams, that's just one game. The smaller divisions do it every year. Geaux Tigers.

Before you shoot me down as a super biased UCF fan, know this. My wife was a varsity athlete for LSU and is a die hard Tiger. I have rooted for LSU in every game since meeting her 6 years ago. I have been to games in Death Valley, including the bama game this year. Of course this is one game I will not be wearing purple or gold.

Some things to look at from the UCF side. I agree that we would rather be playing UF for the in state glory. Regardless, it’s awesome for our young program to make it to the big stage. I haven’t bought into our ‘national championship’ but I do see it as us making a statement that this current system sucks. Would we want a shot a bama?? Hell yeah, we would likely get smoked, but you gotta let us have a shot.

I was at the Peach bowl last year and seriously thought the difference would be at the O and D line. It wasn’t. We were better. Maybe more motivated but we were better.

Our D this year isn’t good, I agree. But look at our second half numbers. Randy Shannon does something at halftime that works and we shut people down. Regardless of how good their RB’s are. Memphis RB had only 6 yards second half.

I really hoping it’s a great game with a high powered offense vs an incredible defense.

I would have found it interesting to see a complete UCF offense against a complete LSU defense.

Instead, UCF lost its QB and LSU is playing without 5 defensive starters. Whatever happens in this game, it's not going to be representative of the teams relative strengths during the regular season.

That's the truth. You won't get LSU's best. We won't get UCF's best.

He is saying that, but he also knows it’s a bullshite argument that he can hide behind. 2 for 1s is the best you will get with ok teams. No major P5 team will ever play in that stadium until the capacity goes up at least 1/3. At least.

The system needs to change.

Let's be honest here. How many players go to UCF in hopes of playing for a national championship in football?

my only issue with UCF is your nonconference schedule. in your situation, to deserve more national respect, you must hit the road against big name schools. it's what FSU did when Bowden first arrived and he beat enough of them he was able to bring their program up to national prominence.

that being said, I think y'all have a hell of a team and may very well beat LSU.
