Before you shoot me down as a super biased UCF fan, know this. My wife was a varsity athlete for LSU and is a die hard Tiger. I have rooted for LSU in every game since meeting her 6 years ago. I have been to games in Death Valley, including the bama game this year. Of course this is one game I will not be wearing purple or gold.

Some things to look at from the UCF side. I agree that we would rather be playing UF for the in state glory. Regardless, it’s awesome for our young program to make it to the big stage. I haven’t bought into our ‘national championship’ but I do see it as us making a statement that this current system sucks. Would we want a shot a bama?? Hell yeah, we would likely get smoked, but you gotta let us have a shot.

I was at the Peach bowl last year and seriously thought the difference would be at the O and D line. It wasn’t. We were better. Maybe more motivated but we were better.

Our D this year isn’t good, I agree. But look at our second half numbers. Randy Shannon does something at halftime that works and we shut people down. Regardless of how good their RB’s are. Memphis RB had only 6 yards second half.

I really hoping it’s a great game with a high powered offense vs an incredible defense.

I'd like to know why the selection committee didn't pit UCF against UF in the Peach Bowl. That would have been fun to watch, particularly if UCF beat the Gay-turds.

You have a much more reasonable take than many who have already ventured here. However, I do take issue with the above. No one HAS to GOTTA give UCF anything. UCF has to earn it. They’ve earned their 2 NY6 bowl invites. No one disputes that. They haven’t earned home and homes with P5 teams or a shot at a 4 team playoff birth yet. The way they can earn that has been discussed. They just need to do it.

What makes you think you deserve a shot with any top 10 team with that cupcake schedule y’all play each year?

Sounds like UCF is the disappointed team.
They wanted Fla
LSU about to demolish the streak

We all agree. I think because we were in the Peach last year. They didn’t want us back to back

The Peach Bowl was guaranteed two power 5 schools because they had the group of 5 school, or whatever it’s called, last year and perhaps the two previous years.

Agree. But I would rather have a group of 6 playoff if a non p5 team will never play for a natty. For a team to go 25-0 and not even get a shot hurts recruiting for us. Why play for a school when you can never get a ‘real’ title.
The system needs to change.

no. play good teams and then maybe. but you don't. your best OOC games are Pitt, Maryland, and Cincinnati.

UCF needs to schedule a better OOC schedule. Houston played Oklahoma and Louisville in 2016 and won both games. Unfortunately they lost 3 regular season games that year. I have no doubt that if they would of gone3 undefeated that year they would of been in that playoff.

Then schedule better OOC games and/or try to join a better conference. No offense but of course big time recruits aren't waiting to line up at UCF to play for a JV team in a middle school conference.

Norte Dame? Non P5s need a tougher schedule to have a shot. UCF will likely have to go on the road to accomplish this.

We play Stanford home and Pitt away next year.
Our AD wants home and home set ups. How can we schedule games if no one will play us?
That’s a crap arguement. We know our conference is weak and would love to move to the big 12 for instance, but money talks and we aren’t wanted.

you aren't entitled to home and home set ups. Miami made their bones going out and playing anyone anywhere.
