Don't fool yourself. NOLA is at the bottom of the abyss right next to Detroit. Don't let the fact that it is a destination for people to come, get drunk and act like fools make you think otherwise.

You're completely clueless.

Impressive logic. Your home is on wheels. Just drive it somewhere else

Sorry the truth bothers you. The place is an absolute dump. And while former NFL players aren't killed here everyday, that type of violence is an everyday occurrence and many people here don't even bat an eye towards it.

I think most of the people who come here and profess their love for such a terrible place are those who grew up here and never lived more than an hours drive away.

If any of you had really left, seen what the rest of the country had then came back, you would see just what a disaster the city really is.

Y'all are crazy. New Orleans is one of the most amazing cities in the entire world. Lots of places have corrupt government and terrible crime. It's not exclusive to New Orleans.

Lot of hate going on in here. TM7 is free to say whatever the Frick he wants he is an adult. Far as Nola the place can look like a shite hole depending on where you are driving but hell you go to basically any metropolitan area where there are drugs and thugs the likelihood of getting shot is very high. Maybe just a little higher in cities like Nola and Chicago.

I live in New Orleans, have lived over an hour away from it for a number of years, but yet I still love it. It's not an absolute dump. There are dump aspects for sure, and it honestly is a disaster with how it's run at times. The streets are terrible, services are not what they should be, etc. The crime is the worst part. However, most of the murders are usually gangbangers killing other gangbangers, so no, people don't bat an eye. It's sad, but if they want to go out living that kind of lifestyle, then so be it.

This crime appears to be different and when these kinds of crimes happen, it's much sadder and gains more attention.

However, there is a lot of beauty and history to New Orleans. The music, food, culture and people in general are one-of-a-kind and that is why many people that weren't born here come here and never forget it. It doesn't wipe out any of the shitty aspects of New Orleans - and yes, they are considerable. I think citizens on New Orleans all get fed up with the issues of New Orleans sometimes, but even with the negatives, there is just something special about New Orleans.

I'm from Vermilion Parish, lived in NOLA for a few years after grad school. I'm in the West now in an unreal job while getting my fill of skiiing, hiking and fishing; but I fully plan to head back to NOLA eventually. Its one of a few places in this country that can grab a hold of you in that way. It has very real problems, but its a shame some locals can't appreciate what a special place they have.

We have a condo in the quarter and have been enjoying its culture for years and have never been a victim of or witnessed any violent crimes. I wouldn't want to live there full time but I enjoy visiting 4-5 times a year.

So the girl said she wanted to see other people? You aren't handling that well.

Stay out. We don't want you here.
