After watching his highlights again I was thinking, where would he have been drafted with no off the field issues?

Top 5 pick, most likely.

He also dropped because of a myth that he couldn’t cover and I would assume because he hadn’t actually played SS.

He was also battling the “too small for NFL” narrative.

You guys are nuts, someone his size wasn't getting drafted top 10.

Edit: I love the down votes, find anyone in that era drafted top 10 around his size. It was almost 8 years ago people.

Iirc he was being projected as a top 15 pick but I could easily have seen his swag on the field and size end up hurting him in some bullshite narrative NFL scouts always pull.

Kyler Murray just went #1 as a 5’9 QB

I think he could have went first or second. D. White just went fifth, and I think the honeybadger had a better college career.

I'm well aware (also he's 5-10). The NFL in 2013 isn't the NFL in 2019.

That's years later with a questionable coach that has a connection to him. And a QB is not a defender, totally different. Murray is also considerably bulkier than Tyrann. Completely apples to oranges.

Tyrann was a GREAT college player but 180 lb. safeties and nickel corners don’t get selected in the top 10.

Mathieu was a 5’8” 180 DB with no real position

This whole board would have had an aneurysm if you said Greedy wouldn't go in the first a month ago but it's an outrage if Tyrann with no issues wouldn't go top 10.

Doesn't matter because he is getting paid still with a good contract.

If guys like Honey Badger and Charles Woodson, (who both absolutely took over games and changed the direction momentum was going in one play) are snubbed just for another QB, then they need to just get rid of the Heisman as one award for one best player, and have 2: one for defense and one for offense.

Woodson did win the Heisman. Beat out some QB named Manning. Mathieu would’ve won the Heisman that year had he not been suspended for the Auburn game.
