Watching the 49ers vs Chargers game because nothing else is on and wow.. TDP is so much more in shape/slimmer than he was at LSU.

It's amazing the lack of nutrition Ed O had in our program. So many players were fat and out of shape.

Makes me glad to have Kelly with his meticulous approach to that side of things.

I saw a documentary about the nutrition program under O on YouTube and it was like soft serve ice cream machines and pizza buffets. The linemen were eating the same stuff as the cornerbacks.

ODS is almost as rampant as TDS.

Nobody was hungry to keep it going after 19. It’s understandable. How can you be? You’re never duplicating what happened in 19…..ever. Plus covid nonsense, I don’t blame O for resting on his laurels. Very human nature thing to do. The props are to Scott and LSU for being able to see past 19 and know that O was done and make the move quickly and not let LSU continue down that path

Not sure if it matters what you eat when you’re 18-21 years old and probably burning well over 1500 calories a day.

When I saw that dude run I always thought he could be similar to Jeremy Hill or Guice but he never quite got on their level at LSU. Maybe the OP is right.
I just hope he makes it a long time in the NFL.

The money is irrelevant. It’s really hard to keep grinding when you’ve been on the mountain top they way they did it. There’s basically one guy who has shown the ability to be at the top and keep climbing.

I’m not an O apologist or an O hater. Thanks for 19, see ya bye

He didn’t rest on anything. He was as clueless and ignorant on day 1 as the day he was fired.

I’ll buy that, but I think there was still some fire and motivation and work ethic all the way until the title. After that you had ignorance and complacency which is a bad cocktail

Meh, it's not like we just had a bad season. By the time summer of 2021 came around it felt like all control had been lost and the train was already one side off the rails. The start to the season just confirmed it.

Woodward would have been extremely negligent to not make a change.

Arian Foster comes to mind. He was a way better pro player than he was while at Tennessee. Same with Alvin Kamara.

Priest Holmes had an illustrious career in the NFL and didn’t do much at Texas in college.

Sometimes football players are better pros than college players.

He wasn't completely clueless. We had the best season ever because he at least knew he needed to try something new on offense in order to ever top Bama. He also recruited his arse off. And he didn't just stick with the QBs he had (Brennan, etc.). He was told about Burrow, went out and recruited him, and Burrow said O was the reason he came to LSU. The rest is history.

I didn't want him as head coach and it fell apart after 2019, but 2019 was magical and no one can ever take that away.

He was and is. He gets credit for getting Burrow, Chase, and Jefferson together on the same team and from there anyone would have done what he did. But make no mistake, he has no idea how any of that happened or how to replicate it, and outside of that random occurrence he is exactly what the rest of his career says he is. A meathead, yes man recruiter, historically bad head coach, and nothing more.

That is some outmoded thinking. It definitely faking matters when the margins between success and less success are so thin.

If it didn't LSU wouldn't have a performance nutrition center for athletes which opened in 2019 and had roots in concepts and application started even earlier. Per this article, the program started in 2009 ( tAdvocate)
