I doubt they pitched Skenes game 1 to limit his pitches. Unless, obviously, he was struggling.

I want some extra base hits. We got 2 doubles, like 8 singles, and a handful of sac bunts/flies/ground balls to score runs.

Skenes is currently averaging 12.6 pitches per inning in this game
so rounding up to 13... he'd throw about 115 to get a potential complete game... which is well within Skenes' abilities
