Only our guys have procedures and are out 4 weeks. Bama guys have surgery and are back 24 hours later

He’ll play, but he won’t be near 100%.
Doesn’t mean he won’t play well, but he’ll be hobbled.

Then a 1 loss bama will slide into the playoffs and the excuse will be now that Tua is healthy it’s hard to argue that bama is not one of the four best teams in CFB.
The problem will be - at that point (and let us merely assume for argument that LSU is undefeated) - Clemson, Ohio State and Oklahoma - none of them get bumped if undefeated by a 1-loss, non SEC-going Bama in 2019.
This isn't the BCS and this isn't 2011.

Just a tightrope for a high ankle sprain, you can weight bear immediately.
Tua had the opposite ankle done last December and played against Oklahoma in the semifinal game on December 29th.
He'll be ready for LSU, albeit maybe not 100%. He looked better against OU than he did Clemson with additional weeks, so who knows?

This I expect to see. I'm dubious of him being full effect Tua. Even if he is bearing full weight in 10 and cutting in 14 days. Also with regards to the actual procedure, the presence of hardware (apparently a plate is used on the lateral surface of the fibula to stabilize, and I suppose some kind of pledget on the tibial side) changes the game a bit I think if one wants to compare it to scopes for torn menisci and whatnot. But he will have access (as any player at that level should) to the most advanced rehab there is. I guess the fact that it is his right ankle is better for him throwing than if it was his left.
Surgery seems very "proactive", but given they've gone that route, it's hard to imagine Tua being near 100% November 9th. We'll see I guess.

Yeah this is real surgery. Not sure how you safely come back in 2 weeks and play college football after that.

Cannot wait to see. Would love to witness 18 lowering the (legal) boom on 13 with a scoop and score to boot.
