DISCLAIMER: Born and raise a TEXAN, except for a short period of time when my family lived in Alexandria. (started first Grade at St. Francis Cabrini) The first college football game I ever attended in person was at Tiger Stadium vs Mississippi State.

Have known and worked with LSU alum all of my professional life. Like most of 'em.

The cat sitting next to me last night had an LSU cap on (backwards) a bad case of little man syndrome and about two too many beers in him. He got a little lippy with the TECH fans in 337 when they booed what appeared to be an obvious "slip and fall" injury near the Tiger sideline. I stood up (I'm about 6"-8" taller than he is) and asked him to cool it with the F bombs....there were women and children nearby. He catches just enough of a snap to realize this might be a good time for him to go to the bathroom....and not come back.

I'm fairly certain he wasn't an alum, and his friend (who stayed) was actually fun to banter back and forth with.

Bear Bryant is cheering and clapping at this very moment. You do know, back in the day....folks made the exact same arguments regarding the forward pass?

A notion which has greatly revolutionized the game. (in some places)

Your posts are getting dumber by the minute.

Again, expecting to be able to run plays against injured opposition was faulty.

The only thing dumber is arguing about it after that strategy fails you.

Not bad mouthing all tech fans, every team has them. We sat by quite a few that were very friendly and had nothing but complements about LSU. I was impressed with those people.

And tell me the story of throwing tortillas? I never got the scoop.

Honestly, I don't have a problem faking injuries if you're going to run a gimmick offense. Chicken's coming home to roost, so to speak.

idiot. What does TTU do that's a gimmick

The HUNH is as much a gimmick as the wildcat formation was ten years ago. How many teams do you see running an exclusive wildcat today? Exactly.

And let me say that it has never yielded a championship for a team at any level. In fact, the modern day pioneer of HUNH lost his job yesterday because he tried to institute it at the NFL level. Needless to say, he failed to make any noise.

Because of it being a gimmick, I have no problem with a fake injury as another gimmick to counter. Both are still within the rules.

IIRC, a sideline reporter (maybe Adrian Karsten) said the only things in Lubbock were Tech football and a tortilla factory.

I first remember them being thrown like crazy in the Cotton Bowl vs USC.

I was there and it was amazing the amount that made it to the field. USC was slightly amused before they went in dry.

They thought he was faking an injury,

big deal. booing an injured player sucks and is indeed classless. these hurry up fans think every injury is just to slow them down. it is a trick to counter their trick. it's prevalant in the big 12.

Playing at a fast tempo isn't a gimmick. it's designed to exploit the other teams weaknesses

it's a fricking gimmick. I don't care what spin you put on it. you try to limit substitutions and you try to get an advantages in ways other than athletic prowess.

I fully support fake injuries to counter the gimmick of the fast tempo.

How is lining up your 11 vs my 11 gaining any type of unfair "advantage"? If your 11 don't have the athletic prowess to keep up, well.....

The Adams injury looked very fake until we realized it pooped himself. LSU fans love to pretend they're above such things as booing.

Since you seem all smart and all, I'll point out that the forward pass was a huge step forward from rugby after set downs/plays.
Now a few teams want to run a play and sprint to the LOS to run the next play without letting the Defense setup and substitute if necessary. And they do this all game long, not just a 2 min drill. What these offenses are doing is a regression back to rugby; a totally different sport with leaner fitter athletes. American football fans want to see 100% best effort from each team every snap.

The NCAA will continue to allow suspect injuries to neutralize the hurry up offenses aka 'allowed regression from gridiron football'.

Deal with it.

You must really miss racoon coats, leather helmets and two way starters...

This is the disconnect....right here. The DEFENSE is allowed to put their select 11 players on the field at the start of the game, and every subsequent change of possession.....right? OFFENSE does the same. Any time the offense substitutes, the defense is given the same opportunity. The umpire stands over the ball to insure it is not put into play until defensive substitutions are completed. How can this possibly give the offense an advantage?

You seem to imply DEFENSIVE players lack the athleticism, or physical fitness required to keep up with the offense. OK. Solution?

The #7 running back for y'all seemed to be faster at times than our guys. I remember one particular play where he outran our DB. Should some special compensation been allowed our defense to keep him from running so fast? On some plays the LSU offense would run him, then line up and run him again, real quick like.

Would you approve of "faking an injury" to give the defense time to "set up and substitute"?

I wouldn't.
