I agree. I can't really put that on Woodward. But it sure ended up being a horrible deal with Jimbo not bringing the team any more success than before. That's the problem with hiring retread big name coaches. You don't know when they're just out for that last retirement check and when they're still hungry for wins.

I am not knighting nor hoping for Jimbo. I was against the hire in ‘16 and still remain in that boat. Simply stating that the particulars of his contract are not valid reasons to throw shade on SW.

Texas A&M is not exactly the easiest place to win at. Yeah, they have money but their in state rival has even more money and is a blue blood program. They also have to compete for recruits against all the other major schools in Texas and out of state powerhouses like Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, and Clemson that have been raiding the state for years. Fisher has done a good job there after inheriting a mess from Kevin Sumlin, a guy who should be eternally thankful to Kliff Kingsbury and Mike Evans for making him look like a genius.

Even if you believe what you said, they are paying him way too much to have the same results as Sumlin. They hired him & paid him to do better
