Trying to help the simpletons (and simps) understand the Jimbo contract

There seems to be a new thread every 5 hours about “but Scott Woodward signed Jimbo a ridiculous contract” so here is an analogy.
Here is $1 million dollars. Buy me a car. It damned well better be something Italian and the name ends with an “i.”
That is the kind of money ($75 million to be exact) that A&M boosters said SW had to work with, and a mandate to get Jimbo. He did the money masters’ bidding.
He got Petersen out of Boise State. He brought Mulkey here. His track record speaks for itself.

Yeah, I don't get the hate on Woodward for the Fisher hire...if you know A&M, he is exactly who they wanted and money was no issue.

Peterson would be a grand slam hire here but I think he's done coaching. I want Napier. Let him build it the right way and stay here long after saban is gone.

For you simpletons that dont understand fiduciary responsibility he failed to protect the brand when he gave out a 10 yr 100% guaranteed contract. The amount of money was not out of line. However he is somewhat off the hook now that aTm has extended JFs contract at 9.0 mil/yr

The explanation isn't worth the bandwidth....just another hollow attempt from the pro-O crowd to divert the football team issues and discredit the biggest threat to his job (Woody).
Notice they can't attack the quality of the hires, so they're reduced to attacking the contracts.

The higher ups WANTED Jimbo, his agent knew it, Jimbo knew it and Scott knew it. Aggie got what they wanted and will ride that horse, live or die.

A&M needed a splash hire to justify the close to billion dollars that were invested into athletics and the boosters gave Woody a blank check to go get the top coach at the time. This isn’t about him just throwing $75m out of the athletics budget.

AM told SW who they wanted, gave him a blank check and said make it happen. He did.
That wasn’t SW fiduciary responsibility, that’s on the big boosters.
