It seems like a lot of the great LSU corners have special teams scores to their name. Peterson, Badger, Tre White all scored on punt returns, Claiborne even got one on a kickoff. Do you believe Stingley will add one to his resume before he leaves LSU?

False.

Honestly he's been underwhelming there and despite that teams still seem to punt away from him a bit.

He's got fantastic hands though and is obviously an elite athlete that has the ability to break one, so I'm cool with him continuing to do it.

I just want Sting to lockdown his side of the field as always. Let someone like Trey Palmer return them.

Who's the fastest guy on the team?

False is a lot more likely than true.

eh, he only returned a few last year and one of them was for like 50 yards. In 2019, after he had a couple big returns in the 30 yard range in the first few games, teams stopped putning to him the rest of the season

Returning punts has a lot more to do with than just speed, but Palmer can absolutely do the job.

I’m happy with either of the two returning kicks

False because Trey Palmer is a better returner

False. With the athletes that LSU has to return punts, why even risk it? Stingley has one job - completely shut down one side of the field.

I don't think this is wrong really, but he returned 17 punt returns in 2019 and averaged 9.6 ypr which was good for 25th in the country. He had 6 last year and as you said, one long one for 50 yards, and the other 5 were for nothing.

And when I say underwhelming I don't mean he's bad at all. I just mean we heard all about how sick he was at returning in practice and camp, then he never really got it going in games.

He definitely has the talent to do it though.

I don't think they trust his hands NEARLY as much as they trust Stingley's. That has always been the most important trait for a returner. Don't muff it.

Seems like he's not shifty enough.

Well he doesn’t muff punts at crucial times like the last #7 that returned punts…

He may grab one against one of the lower teams this year. He’s been pretty underwhelming in that area so far.

Frankly, I’d rather he just focus on being the best corner he can be. Trey Palmer is suited to returns very well.
