well we couldn't make grant want the LSU job unless we paid him out the arse....which he has not proved worthy of yet

I realize that...but we had so many so-called experts on here saying the usual "book it" or "done deal" crap with Grant...that I got my hopes up...oh well.

I think Johnson will do very good here...seems like a guy who wont embarrass us like Brady did.

Johnson is the Pac-10 coach of the year and in the Sweet 16. Three days from now, he could be in the Final Four and not under contract beyond next season.

Let’s say Stanford loses this weekend and then next week or the following week Indiana or LSU comes along and makes an offer. (I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them — LSU’s the better bet — has already made contact with Johnson and/or his representatives.)

But like I said: Johnson will most likely re-up on The Farm. That’s what he wants to do and where he wants to be. And you have to think The Farm wants him, don’t you?

So how come a school like Florida...who had alot less bball tradition than LSU...was able to keep a young guy like Donovan for so long? I dont see him leaving..even though he came close.

No. Because he would have done a good job and as you say, 'lit BR on fire'. That would be a whole lot better than where we are right now.

I'm already tired of all the articles about the first African American head coach of a men's team at LSU

You're thinking of Stacy Johnson-Klein from Fresno State...

Back to the thread topic, our sources say Johnson will, in fact, be the new head coach:

WGSO beat us by half an hour or so, but we're getting closer. :-)
