Stanford is losing this season with Trent's recruits..go figure.

Lopez Bros don't enroll yearly, tough academics, Cal's hiring of Mike Montgomery stole Stanford's Bay Area thunder the past year-plus. Stanford AD's aloofness on the Johnson retention possibilities, and having TJ walk to LSU, sent a bad message about Stanford and Hoops to all of Cali and especially the NoCal/bay area..they are on the slide in Hoops.

Unlike T20(and possibly even XIV, Bad Cat, Beatlebum?), whom are pro-LSU Hoops regardless of the HC, I don't understand the types like yourself and cj33, etc..that are pro Brady, yet attacking Coach Johnson..

When TJ has an outright SEC crown in year one with an Iron 5 & 2 Man Bench(and was one of LSU Hoops top 5 to 7 finest years ever), where the team played much greater than the sum of it's total parts, and appeared clearly "coached up" in regards to LSU teams over the previous decade-plus of the tail-end of the DB era and the entire JB era.

Coach Johnson is but in year number two of his tenure, and with a stout recruiting class on the way(one with highly regarded recruits/program builders, yet none so high as to appear obvious one-and-dones), and will get the job done, despite a pitiful fair-weathered bandwagon football 'neck fanbase, to recruit to.

Give TJ and Staff four or five years.

This will never end - Brady bashers . TJ lovers, Brady fans- there is no room for any objectivity

We will have to wait 2 years to find out the real truth

but until then

They just named the fault line under Haiti
the Brady/Bush fault.
Co-owners.
There's still room to add GC.

Didn't like Brady, hated the way ranters treated him. I stated a fact about Stanford. That was only pointing out the talk about all the recruits coming in. Where are the first year recruits? Trents past record was winning early and leaving the program going somewhere else. I still have not figured out why he came to LSU? His first year, he was handed a good team on a platter. If he did not see this year coming and start preparing last season working hard on the guys that wre coming back to get them ready for this season.......well, I just don't see any getting them prepared. I believe the fun for them is gone. Losing is not fun. Who's fault is that? I hope Trent does a good job. He is probably doing his hardest coaching now ever for this is by far the worst season he has ever coached. So, how do we judge him by waiting til next year when he has a world class recruiting group coming in or by last years hand me on a plate 1st year inherited championship team, or this years can't win an SEC game season?

Well it's a good thing the basketball fans and the football fans are entirely different. The football fans would want him fired and would never see this plan play out.

Question...Don't you need to be entrenched for a couple of seasons as a basketball coach to start getting the quality recruits, except for maybe at some of elite b-ball programs?

Your theory might make sense if the recruiting class wasn't almost all signed during the early fall signing period before this season took place. Those players were coming to LSU already even if the team win winless or undefeated this season.

instead, I think he should turn up the pace, press and run every chance they can and try to shoot more 3's like Petino did to success his first year at UK when he was also short-handed due to probation.

If we had ANYONE that could sink a 3 pointer then I'd agree with you. Our 3 point shooting is horrendous.

He didn't bring in ANY talent this year to help the players that were already there

louisiana had no talent last year. He made a decision to keep his scholarships instead of giving them to undeserving players. By the looks of his next recruiting class, he was right.

there was not 1 player from LA in the top 150 last year.

This year Louisiana has 3, with LSU getting the best one (#71 player in the country). It takes time to develop relationships with coaches and players, especially since a lot of these kids are being recruited since freshman year.

Right now, we are getting the #71, #93, and #144 ranked recruits for next season. Add in a commit from the #148 player and that is damn good. We also get Malcom White from Ole Miss who will be an instant starter. So, we have the #20 class in the country + Malcom White. That is a huge step in the right direction. We need to get 4 year players who will bring the program stability, and then go after the 1 and done players who can bring us to the top 10 level

LINK

our recruiting class is great, and trent has already shown that he wins with talent

two 4 stars and 3 three stars is great for LSU.

Trent made the right decision in holding the scholarships. This year sucks, we knew that going in. I don't understand why people are bitching about something that we understood during the offseason

Why did Taz come back? Is he not thought of very highly by the NBA?

I hope you don't really believe that. The guy has done a HORRIBLE job with what he has this year. With TM and SW and BS, there is no way they should be as embarrassing as they are. They have completely quit on him. He didn't bring in ANY talent this year to help the players that were already there. You can say what you want about Johnson, but what he is putting on the court is not the sign of a good coach. They are not even competetive.
I've got to agree here. It's not like we have ZERO talent. Besides Mitchell, Spencer and Warren we have warm bodies that by now he should have been able to meld into some semblence of a team to at least support those 3 decent players we have. What we've seen so far is ridiculous and unfortunately it's a poor reflection on the man's ability to coach. No doubt last year he did great and earned some leeway but wow, this year's team is really, really bad, one of the worst I've seen and it can't be all attributed to the lack of talent.

No response needed, we have a coach who inherited a great healthy team last year, in his third year we will see his first recruiting class, none of which was recruited by any other basketball powerhouse, possibly may not win an SEC game this year, has cut bait with everyone around here, has called out players in press conferences, has three very good players in taz, storm and bo, i guess brady was suppose to lay out his second year team here too. for everyone to give TJ a break in his second year for this product is unbelievable. i'll bet bet stanford people are blaiming him for the trash he left them, after two years. time will tell. I still say Marcus Thornton made this guy look like a genius.

tj is a very good coach and has a very good recruiting class coming in everyone that follows sec basketball knew lsu was going to struggle and picked to finish last by some in their division which tells u how weak they were expected to be cause that never happens after winning a conference but did in this case but those that expect it to be great next year r most likely mistaken cause a recruiting class seldom causes huge changes for a year or 2

This was the point I was going to make. I think someone should research or think before making posts like this.
