So if Boise would have made it to the NC could you actually say that they deserve to be there because they beat the best teams? They must be "the man" because they beat all the men? Just saying you don't need to play 12 Alabamas. Just play three.

Yeah, couldn't we place Tulane and UL-fillintheblank. I prefer to play crappy teams every week nonconference

Did not say it was the toughest. Just simply posed the question. Notice the question mark. And yes, I do enjoy a little drama from time to time.

Those pussies don't play anyone. That's why they get zero respect from anyone who knows anything about college football.

What's so great about playing 12 Alabamas? We play them once-a-year, not to mention the rest of the SECw and a few from the SECe.

As someone who has been there/done that, I embrace that shite! Playing those inferior teams/conferences is such a waste of time and resources, but it's pretty good for the bottom line.

some people fear the challenge. it's the way it is. yes, tcu and boise get what seems to be a bye but they have to win them all to get it. and tcu didn't even get it winning them all. the sec is tough and we have 2 tough ooc games. if we win them both, it very well may allow us in the NC game with one loss.

It just means the really good teams have a challenging schedule with LSU on it.

1899 Sewanee. Look it up.

October 21, 1899 vs. Georgia Atlanta, GA W 12–0
October 23, 1899 at Georgia Tech Atlanta, GA W 32–0
October 28, 1899 Tennessee Sewanee, TN W 46–0
November 3, 1899* Southwestern Presbyterian Sewanee, TN W 54–0
November 9, 1899 at Texas Austin, TX W 12–0
November 10, 1899* vs. Texas A&M Houston, TX W 10–0
November 11, 1899 at Tulane New Orleans, LA W 23–0
November 13, 1899 at LSU Baton Rouge, LA W 34–0
November 14, 1899 vs. Ole Miss Memphis, TN W 12–0
November 20, 1899 Cumberland Sewanee, TN W 171–0
November 30, 1899 vs. Auburn Montgomery, AL W 11–10
December 2, 1899 vs. North Carolina Atlanta, GA W 5–0

The 1899 Iron Men team's most notable accomplishment was a six-day period from November 9 to 14 which is arguably the greatest road trip in college football history. Manager Luke Lea put together an improbable schedule of playing five big name opponents in six days, all on the road. Sewanee played and shut out them all while travelling by train for 2500 miles. This feat, barring fundamental changes in modern-day football, can never be equaled.

tough? yes.

impossible? hardly.

florida/auburn/arky

at home. W W W

tennessee/ole miss/state/alabama, on the road

alabama should not drop of much, but a new qb. also they lose quite a bit of thier playmakers.

tennessee could definitely surprise. Don't know who they lost this year

ole miss and state i refuse to concede. If we play up to our potential with the experience we have coming back, we should win those two.

no way we lose to wva. We should've beat their arse by at least 30 last year. small undersized.

oregon could go either way.

11-1 or 10-2

as always, lucky breaks and injuries will play a big roll in how far we go

All this talk about national championships baffles me....considering we're most likely entering the season with JJ at QB.

I dont care about his Cotton Bowl performance. I dont care about his Bama performance. I care that he is not consistent and has shown next to zero improvement since the chikfila bowl a few yrs ago. This guy is not a championship QB. And its sad to say that because I definitely believe all the other pieces are in place. But QB is the most important position by a long shot. I dont see it happening. I hope I'm wrong.

It's a shame everybody is hyping a team that's never seen the field yet as a group to be a shoe in for a National Title. Talent proves nothing. It's potential which means you haven't done it yet. I consider an SEC Title as a successful season any year. A MNC does not have to go with it for the season to be a success.

There's no reason to be scared of your schedule. That's just weak and I hate when people do that. If you look at the Alabama and Auburn schedules the last 2 years, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would have said there's no way they'll go undefeated. But those teams did indeed go undefeated and win an MNC.
