Geno Smith was starting his first road game at QB last year at LSU.He has more experience now but we have freshman running backs. The Maryland game usually dictates our season.Hopefully we can be a good opponent for LSU.

I know that your DC does remarkable things with his scheme and makes the best of generally mediocre talent on that side of the ball, but as I've been discussing with my bother and father in law from WV, I've got some serious questions about how you're going to hold up against us.

Our defense will match your offense, but you'll get yours. That's just how that offense works. But I just can't see Bruce Irvin for instance lining up across from Chris Faulk or Alex Hurst for 60+ offensive plays. Also, I thought Neild was a tremendous NG for the past few seasons and it's vital to have that position in that scheme.

Moo state. They have more motivation with the huge loss streak to LSU and its on a Thursday where LSU will have less time to prepare for them. LSU will have a couple extra days to prepare for West Va.

These are both really tough games, but I'm more nervous about the Miss St game. I don't feel like West VA has enough speed and talent to keep up with us for all four quarters.

MSU will be MUCH tougher than WVU. MSU is a tough matchup for LSU. They have a very powerful O-line. Vic Ballard is a very good back. The passing game with Relf, Clark, and Bumphis is formidable. There is experience at every position on offense. On defense, the only two freshmen that they have in the 2-deep are redshirts starting over the upperclassmen. That shows talent and depth.

If you look at WVU, it's very close to the same situation but for a few deficiencies. Geno Smith + Tavon Austin make a threatening passing game, but WVU lacks experience at RB. Their O-line is experienced but not as large as MSU's. On defense, they are very experienced with no freshmen starting. However, their D-line is very small, a good matchup for LSU's o-line.

MSU has a really good team. This isn't your NCAA-sanctioned Croom doormat of yesteryear. Look for MSU to wear down late in the game because of their scheduling anomaly. Look for LSU to struggle with an inspired WVU but pull away late.

Right...and LSU plays Northwestern St. this weekend where as MSU has to go on the road against Auburn. LSU has plenty of time to prepare for MSU.

WOW...don't know what ya'll be smokin down there, but I want some (puff, puff pass).
We were well into that game last year & without the illeagal hit on Devine we mighta came back.
Yes, this game has been circled on every WVU player, coach & fans calendar for the past year.
I think ya'll are in for a rude awakening when you travel to Mo'town.

WVU - 35
LSU - 19 (maybe 24)

You might win but you won't get close to that. Rainstorm or no it took you four quarters to put that up on Marshall and one of those TDs was a kickoff return.

If you have trouble with a guy like Vinny Curry from Marshall you'll have all kinds of issues with Montgomery and Mingo.

Mississippi State.

They have the better team and we have 9 days to prepare for West Virginia compared to their 6 days to prepare for us.

Neither team is nearly as talented as LSU if you want to know the truth. There is no excuse for losing either game. These games should be wins.

Both will probably be tough games, but compare their schedules to LSU's.

Mississippi State plays Auburn this week, where as LSU plays Northwestern state. Some advantage to LSU on the quick turnaround game even with it being at State.

West Virginia will be playing Maryland the week before they play LSU, and LSU will have nine days to prepare for WVU.

This! Moo State on 4 days rest worries me more.

Simple fact we have to stay undefeated in conference unless Bama were to lose.

tougher does not mean more important, and if we beat a no loss Bama and have one loss we win the tie breaker unless possibly MooU is in a three way tie with one loss.

Look at WVU's depth chart and see who would be getting playing time at LSU...

Geno Smith - QB
Bruce Irvin (as a backup LB or ST contributor)

The cupboard looks bare.

I'll probably regret these statements, BUT:

1. I'm no buying the Miss St love. We OWN them, and have for some time. They couldn't even beat us w/four shots from inside the 5. They are improved (I grant you that), and they will beat SOME teams from the SEC, but we ain't one of them.

2. I do NOT believe in the Morgantown mystique. Pitt, or Virginia, or Va Tech may be intimidated by that place, but we won't be. We have better players, coaches, conditioning, women, and food. Not to mention, coonasses are culturally elite when compared to hillbillies.

If we lose either one of those games, it will be a function of not taking the opponent seriously. Miles' teams have NOT shown a propensity for doing that.
