I got that but I thought that was a different failed test that resulted in a 3 game suspension then he failed again which resulted in a 6 game suspension...I hope I’m wrong but that’s how I understand the situation with the limited information that has been released.

I got that but I understand that he failed 2 tests this year

3 + 6 = 9

We aren’t suspending guys 6 games for a 1st offense failure on weed.

If it's weed and if he seriously went through a 3 wk program and understands that it is in his best interest now and at the next level to quit then welcome back brother and God speed.

With the 1st offense a warning I’m good with this which is what I think we do which is why I think this is a total 9 game suspension...I think our policy goes over every season so his first failure this year could have been his second overall 3 games then failed again 6 games...like I said I hope I am so wrong but I don’t think I am.

Is it possible he doesn’t get credit for games suspended if he’s not on the team?
it's possible.

But I promise you 'not on the team' will be defined by things most favorable to us and Divinity.

- financial aid had to have been revoked
- not enrolled and 'pursuing a degree' (NCAA language)
- paperwork filed with NCAA stating removal from roster

Absence from practice, media declarations, locker empty, etc. does not matter. On the team is really a factor of FA and being enrolled.

So no... if he didn't play in any game it will be counted as a suspension game.

Let me tell you what I think (likely) happened.

Divinity never failed a drug test before the Bama game because he never took it.

He was already on a 6 game suspension for failing a drug test (weed). The week before the Bama game the staff got a heads up they were about to test him again. He tells the coach that “I can’t pass the test” meaning he’s still been smoking weed (dumb on his part but it is what it is). So the coaches come up with a way around it so he doesn’t fail another one. If he “remains on the team” the compliance department is going to test him, but if he is “no longer with the team” they can’t test him. Just so happens that it takes about two weeks to get weed out of your system for a piss test. Divinity stays off the weed for two weeks, comes “back to the team” gets tested and passes the test. Bada bing bada boom!

As long as he keeps his arse clean from now on, he should be playing against A&M.

basically everything i am reading is, unless something changes the earliest he could play would be the National Championship game. Other sites are confirming this.
