CB on Saturday or JerryWorld Monday afternoon would work.

Small chances of rain here in NoTex this week.

CB was remodeled a while back & seats 90,000.

Evacuees most likely go to shelters, as many or more hotel rooms in DFW as in HOU.

Just saying this is a viable alternative to NO or BR.

BYU will not agree to play on a Monday and then have a short week to prepare playing a rivalry game. All the while Provos, BR, Nola are better options for Saturday.

There is rain slated the entire week here in Dallas with the heaviest predicted to hit Thursday and Friday. LSU and BYu agreeing to play outdoors in sloppy conditions is ludicrous given the other options.

Two potential relocation sites are LSU’s Tiger Stadium or New Orleans’ Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

BR & NOLA are simply 2 potential sites. Not the ONLY 2 potential sites.

That actually makes sense. I mean New Orleans has way too many temptations. Shreveport has always struck me as the Provo of the South.

Will agree to disagree.

Neither of us can accurately speak to what BYU will/won't sign up for regarding next game short week. Depends on lots of variables beyond that.

Current Weather Channel weekly forecast for Dallas has 50/50 chance of rain here Wednesday/Thursday, but clear Friday through the weekend. Sure the CB drains well even if there's no tarp.

Just sayin'.

Independence Bowl - 65,000 seats Superdome - 77,000 + seats Don't think that won't factor into the decision. Oh, and the only reason Shreveport is "family friendly" is because there isn't dick to do there.

BYU played Tulane in the Superdome in Sept 2009 (please don't ask the score), so it's not like they don't know what to expect going to NOLA. Shreveport would be a logistical nightmare for ESPN...

Completely agree in that regard. If their AD pulled that and did decide to play on a Monday I can't imagine the blowback he would get not only from his fan base but the coaching staff as well. A short week playing if not the most physical team on schedule with a huge in state rival looming..

All I'm saying is the the CB, in my most humble opinion, is not ready to host a game on such short notice. The stadium host one game each year. That's it. It's also during one of the most busy months Dallas has in that it falls during the state fair. Alot of people outside of the DFW area come in to help with the fair but also the cotton bowl arrangements. And not only that ,but every single major university in the DFW area is hosting their own first football game of the year at home. Although the TCU's, North Texas, and SMU's of the world are tiny they still draw alot of out of state alumni. SMU especially. Couple that with huge fan bases like Michigan and Florida coming in town It still would be challenging to get hotel rooms.

I would love for LSU to come in town so I can see my tigers play. It's just not going to happen I believe. We will all find out soon enough.

Yes, Cotton Bowl or Independence Stadium. Both are far north of the storm and its projections are east toward BR and NO, and we should be very concerned about water in New Orleans area that will be pounded all week long, with no break.

We were just through NO several weeks ago and they got flooded from a few hours of heavy rain. They have real water problems down there to resolve. This week could present serious problems for NO.

Hopefully they stay north of this thing.

My guess is that Texas refugees will go to Dallas and other Texas cities. I just can't imagine Texans encouraging people to go to BR and NO. So move the game to New Orleans.

You need to brush up on your map/geography skills. Dallas is 240 miles from Houston. It's 272 miles from Baton Rouge. 348 to NOLA

I know it's on the wrong sight but it is relevant. One reason to play in houston was to try and gain a foothold in the texas recruiting. While I know that it would be great to play close to home and not have to road trip, playing in big D would make longer term sense on the recruiting front. Man, it would be great to show off Air Canada's new Offense to some TCU recruits in Dallas. just musing...

Shreveport.....family friendly.
This game will not be played in Shreveport. There are no easy direct flights to that "Family Friendly" city full of Casinos.

ESPN makes the call on this game, nit Joe Alleva, Dallas may also experience weather problems next Saturday and the logistics of hotel rooms are a problem with one big game already being played there. The Cotton Bowl is also a very bad part of Todd for a night game.
