UNC-Wilmington...Coastal Carolina
2003...or Pre-internet
Why let a few facts stop me from making a point?
I like the applause and victory lap. It's just like it is after my son's Little League final. It's called SPORTSMANSHIP!
Somebody compared it to the Bad News Bears...this is totally wrong. The Bad News Bears told the winning team to "take your apology and your trophy and shove it straight up your arse."
Probably what a lot of fans would prefer...

no problem with the lap or people staying to congratulate SB
They earned that show of respect on the field IMO
well deserved, beat LSU like a ginger step-child
and that doesn't mean I don't want LSU to win....I want them to win in EVERYTHING
but I rarely get what I want so gotta roll with life sometimes

pretty sure she is a better person than you if she stayed to congratulate the SB team while you kicked your dog at home.

Exactly.

Had I been able to get a ticket, I would have stayed until the bitter end and done exactly that. I was clapping for SB after the game at the game party I was attending, along with everyone else there. SB deserved acknowledgement.
ETA: When I got home, I cried, though.

Matt Moscona is siding with the anti-victory lap for Stony Brook crowd. Just saying.

then Matt Moscona has no class.

Moscona just also said that "Every former LSU player that he has spoken to says that it was ridiculous".
LSU baseball fans, get over yourselves. Quit doing things just for the "Hey look at me, I'm a great fan."

He has always seemed to me like a level headed, logical human being, so him choosing this side of the argument is no surprise to me.

He should name names. Wonder who he has on speed dial.
It's a little ridiculous in my mind but if people want to congratulate them, that's ok too. They played hard, they deserve some credit.

To be fair, they only do it when they know someone is watching and will acknowledge them for it.

Bingo. If some of those fans thought that they would never read a quote in the paper, or a small statement on SportsCenter praising their "great baseball fan-ness", then they wouldn't do it.
Classic case of reading your own press clippings.

Congrats to all the classy LSU fans that hung around to congratulate them!

SBU pitcher Frankie Vanderka in press conference. "ive got only one thing to say, LSU fans are the best around."

this is the average LSU baseball fan, its obnoxious to be around at games

Break out the Jurgens. With that type of praise, it's definitely fapping time for 'the best fans in the country'.

How many? Did he start calling them up and taking a poll? I want names. I'm throwing the BS flag on that one and Moscona is officially classless.

How on earth could it be classless to just leave the stadium after the game, and not say one word to them, positive or negative?

Lots of mind readers on this site who believe they know what's in the minds of all fans.
Don't know why the fans did what they did, but I don't have any problem with it. Made us look decent for a change. I like it.
