I've played ball, been to a lot of games. The applause was more than enough. Staying around to congratulate them on beating the crap out of your team is too much.

Showing your appreciation for a performance is great, but doing the same thing you'd do if LSU had won is stupid

Well, go beat 'em all up. Banish them from any future games. Or, you could get over it and move on.

Everything old is new again...the difference is the internet.

Some years ago, before the days of Super-regionals, a team from Coastal Carolina put up a fight all week and played LSU for the chance to go to Omaha. LSU won, but the fans appreciated the heart and the fight of the underdog team. They applauded that team, and the losing team took a victory lap at the Box, a la Stony Brook.

This is how sports should be.

For those of you who don't agree, get over it--no one wants to hear about it.

Knock the victory lap all you want.Knock him all you want. If the players appreciate it, that is all that matters to me as it was their blood, sweat & tears left out there on the field.

Damn it ... don't you know that LSU fans can only show respect when their team wins? There's no place for that crap when the Tigers lose.

Be sure to high five the guy who bangs your wife as he takes a victory lap around your bedroom. It shows good sportsmanship, since you were clearly beaten by an alpha-male.

Baseball being compared to sexual intercourse. I like it.

That was actually in 2003.. during the days of the super regional. It happened after the regional, though. And it was UNC Wilmington.

That situation was completely different. LSU didn't lose that day so it was nice to see the fans appreciate the other teams' effort in the loss. We didn't celebrate with them for kicking our arse.

Way back when in 2003. What a different world we live in now, things were much simpler in that era.

Like we did when we ran onto the field and jumped in the SB dogpile, right? I mean that was one hell of a celebration we made with the SB team. Fireworks, people jumping on top of each other, screaming and cheering ringing throughout the box.

It was a high five. Get over it.

It goes back to the point I said earlier that football is the only sport that really matters and even the greatest baseball superfans know this.

That's why you never see it at a football game.

Baseball isn't a gentleman's sport. It isn't sophisticated or any bullshite like that people try to spout off.

It is possible to binge drink at LSU sporting events and NOT be a vulgar a-hole in front of the children and ladyfolk.

Exactly. He probably just learned to cuss. Makes him feel like the big man. That and binge drinking. Probably hasn't actually seen a game. A real man. Too busy binge drinking and cussing out kids Someone to be proud of.
