Dude.
Baseball's a whole different thing.
But if you want to be the guy who rubs your nuts in an opposing fan's face go ahead.
Yes, it's clear this would never happen at Alabama.
Exactly why I'm glad it did happen.
p.s. I do think Nicj Saban's tires should be slashed on every recruiting trip he makes

While all the other fans were cheering on SBU during their victory lap, I was cheering on LSU as they walked back to the dugout. Most of them had tears in their eyes. It was rough to watch.
I was able to snag this picture of Hanover standing next to Kevin Gausman. Both of them were clearly distraught. I wish both of them luck in the future; they're great guys.

I may be too drink to get your post but hell too late to stop now.......by that logic you can go ahead and stroke SB tonight my friend. I'll just choose to hate them instead.

I wonder how they felt hearing our fans clap and cheer for SB.

Now this I can get down with.....while everyone else in this thread that was there was cheering on and slapping hand with SB I truly commend you for being an LSU fan.

According to someone earlier they should be OK with it because it will get them there next year.
Piss poor reasoning if you ask me.

As our guys sit in the dugout the super fans are slapping hands with the team that beat us...outfrickingstanding..fricking disgrace

It sends a message to the nation when LSU does something like that. It doesnt go unnoticed and thats why most people seperate LSU football and baseball fans. Baseball should remain a classy sport.
Bull shite.... if our players did that at another stadium, it would be frowned upon.
standing ovation is one thing, we might as well lined up with capri suns and let then run under a tunnel of 20k arms.

That picture is why an LSU fan shouldn't go overboard in his eagerness to congratulate the other team. Applaud their efforts, yes. Welcoming them with open as while your team copes with the loss, hell no.

No lie him and Dozar were some great Tigers that didn't really get all of the accolades that a guy like Nola did (well deserved for him of course).
This senior class is going to be tough to lose. Probably up there with that Blake Gill/Matt Liuzza class....although I was actually friends (and still am) with those guys as I was in school at the time.

Their logic just doesn't align. They don't clap and cheer for our victorious opponents in football, yet they feel compelled to in baseball because they've been conditioned to believe that baseball is a "classy" sport.

Im sure there were plenty of LSU fans standing over the dugout...its not like your cheering will really help ease the pain those players felt, only their teammates and family can really do that
also Im sure there were fans waiting for them as they walked out the locker room too
I think both sides are making way too big of a deal over this

I hate to say it but I think it boils down to while winning baseball titles are fun football is the only sport that really matters.
You don't congratulate your opponent in football because that loss just ended any national title hopes you had.

It truly was something I'll never forget.
This is the team talking in the outfield after the game, after they started walking back towards the dugout, we started chanting L-S-U and some of the guys picked their heads up. Some of the guys next to us said "Thank you Tyler Hanover" and he looked at us and gave us a little wave. He looked like he appreciated it, but there were tears in his eyes.

There were tons of people waiting outside the locker room.

But hearing your fans cheer and high five SB players can exacerbate the agony.

I talked to one of my good buddies who plays baseball after the game.
Though he's younger, he said that it really didn't bother much people as it might be made out to be, in short.

Many of these guys know the victory lap tradition is for LSU when they win a regional at home. Giving a visiting team, no matter how like able or feel good their story may be, a victory lap in front of the LSU team is unacceptable.

I would partially agree. They "congratulate" SB because, in actuality, they really couldn't care less about the result.
After a football loss (even in the regular season), they would be in rage mode for the next 4 days. After tonight's game, they'll go home and forget about it completely.
