No, I'm not worried about the officiating. But, it will not stop plenty of conspirators from thinking Bama is gonna get every call go their way. It really makes our fanbase look pathetic trying to blame the officials, especially 2 weeks before the game. Yes the SEC office is in Bham, but no every SEC official did not go to Alabama

Someone give me a principled, rational explanation for the replay officials' conduct that doesn't involve bias or inexcusably gross incompetence

This is the explanation I heard from a few people, and they were serious, and I have, to this point, understood this as what happened, however ridiculous it sounds:

The TV in the replay booth was not HD, or of good enough quality, the quality of video did not show PP's feet inbounds. While everyone in America watching the game could see it clearly, the one person who needed to, couldn't.

The worst part is it started a couple of weeks ago.

First, Ritter is injured and probably won't get the game. That's good. Where we have to be on guard is in the replay booth, where Bama has had 'friends' and/or fans in the past. That's not heresay. We know it happened once against us. I'm expecting it to happen again, which means we can leave any doubt about the score.

With a game of this magnitude and national exposure I don't look for there to be any blatantly horrendous calls. As a previous poster said what worries me is Bama's Oline holding. It rarely gets called.

if I knew it was going to be a fairly called game, I'd pick LSU by 10+

This has been my prediction since week 5.

Who knows, AU 2010 in the Plains was officiated fairly, so we will see. The entire CFB nation will be tuned in. IF the SEC pulls its usual shite to support its favorite child, that will overshadow any outcome from the game, especially if it is close.

I don't think you are paranoid to have this concern, though. After all, it's not like a presedence has been set. LOL

Yep. They did get some heat over the Wing touchdown penalty. They did get some heat over the 2009 Petersen interception that they ruled wasn't.
Auburn 2010 was fairly called but Auburn ain't Bama. It ain't just what they call but also what they don't call and placement of the ball. We had a first down on the first possession of the 2009 game but the ref jumped back about 2 yards from where the run ended to give us 4th and about 1 yard. It was blatant cheating by the refs.

No one disputes the fact that it was a bad call. It was almost as bad as the screwjob the refs gave us in 2004 at Tiger Stadium.

And Bama also got a "letter of apology" from the SEC office for that call as well. Congrats, that one bad call to dozens for you. What does the SEC say to LSU after blatant screw jobs? Yeah, "the right call was made". LULZ

Just curious, when Arkansas beats you, you obviously can't blame it on Bama favoritism. So what's the typical excuse for that game?

Unlike Auburn and Bama, Arkansas, in the past decade, has not needed blatant cheating to beat us. No excuses here. If I recall correctly, in 2007, 2008 and 2010, LSU fans were pissed at Bo Pelini, Malveto, and Karnell Hatcher, respectively.

I still chuckle about the 2009 game. You guys had to cheat to beat our second string offense to win that game. That still cracks me up to this day.

au gained 20 yards just by the sec spots that they were given last week.
I don't think anyone has been talking about this since we blew them out but I noticed the same thing during the game. They would spot the ball for Auburn at the point where the player slid or bounced instead of where he initially hit the ground.

fyi-the guy who missed the call on the field is now the #1 guy in charge of video for the SEC! i believe we will be fighting the tide and the refs!

I don't agree. There are too many Alabama and Auburn homeboy calls, one as recently as Saturday night during your game with TN.

The Peterson interception was so blatantly a bad call. BAMA and their crimson jockstrap wearing officials need a good arse kicking.

Are Alabama fans allowed to bring up the blatant pass inteference call in the endzone in 2004 that probably cost Alabama the game? The one where our receiver was tackled in the endzone before he could make a play on the fade pass and that LSU intercepted and returned to midfield? Instead of 1st and goal from the 2 and a TD that would have put Bama up by 11 late in the 3rd quarter, LSU gets the ball at midfield.

That call was every bit as blatant and obvious as Peterson's interception 2 years ago and your radio crew even admitted in the post game that Alabama got screwed by the refs.

You have to admit that there are a couple of calls that were completely missed/not called.

Case in point:

2009 vs. Alabama-Peterson's INT/Spear on JJ

2006 vs. Auburn-There are 2 obvious ones:

1. Auburn CB trying to give Brandon Lafell a jockstrap wedgie in the endzone--No Pass Interference Call.

2. 4th & 2 pass to Jacob Hester...They guy takes 3 FULL STEPS and fumbles out of bounds. Call on the field after review--Incomplete pass.

It seems Bama and Auburn fans are the only fans who think the refs call great games. Bama fans point to one non call against Webster. I cAn bring up 5 bs calls in the 09 game. What about the 2 ft short spot on our first series when JJ clearly had the first down. Or the spearing.

That call was also before there was review of plays and calls.
You got an apology letter from the SEC, unlike LSU for the blatant calls. LSU was told the Petersen call was the correct call.

That was a bad call but you can hardly say that a single call in the first quarter cost anyone the game. Most of the frustration by LSU fans is from seeing a pattern of blown/no calls throughout the game that work against our team when playing a team from the home office. Then, with the game on the line in the 4th quarter we always get the back-breaker like the waiving off of the Pass Interferance at Auburn in 06 or the PP7 interception no call in 09.

I agree. No doubt the officials blew the Peterson interception call, but that doesn't establish an overall bias or conspiracy. Overall, bad calls tend to go both ways. Let's just hope bad calls on either side don't affect this game.

We can't worry about that. We just control what we can, and that is playing our A game.... lots of intensity with no mistakes. Keep our heads and let the chips fall where they may..... if we do that, we keep it out of the officials bands... we may get some bad calls, but if we play our game they won't be game deciding ...IMO
