Briles
Don't necessarily want to run his offense at LSU, but think we need his brains, creativity, some of that offense, and skill player coaching (QB, WRs, and communication- together on same page).

He did a bad thing by doing nothing. Doesn't mean he's not a good man. One bad mistake doesn't have to define you

so we can grab Herman from Texas.
As long as we don't have to play Memphis or SMU I'm all for it.

Trying to spare LSU the embarrassment of hiring this weasel.

Isn't Major Applewhite from the BR area?

How do you feel about Kiffin then ? If there are any Tennessee posters on here, ask them of old memories of Kiffin . He left USC in a lurch as well. With all the talent at Bama, he hasn't had to cheat. Yet . Kiffin apparently would be accepted w/open arms if O offers by posters on here. Morals ?

Yes. He graduated from Catholic High

A name that is rarely mentioned is Doug Meacham at TCU.
The year before he got to TCU, they scored 301 points. He goes there and scores 604 points his first year. Yeah, yeah they throw it some but they ran it 39 times a game - one less a game than we ran it this year. And ran for over 200 yards a game.
He will run about 80 plays a game which is where we should be - not the 62-64 Les ran. And it will be a balanced offense.
He was on staff at OkSt and Gundy would never promote him to OC and he's got a chip on his shoulder about it. He went to Houston for a year and turned John O'Korn into a serviceable guy. TCU is rebuilding this year and is 6-5.

The alleged gang rape, it has never been proven to be true. That said, I wouldn't touch any of his staff or him except the strength coach Kaz.

I think O is putting all his eggs in the Kiffin basket!!!

Helfrich should be near the top. What's more, he was just fired so he'll be looking for a job unlike most others mentioned. Not the best HC, but he ran one of the top offenses for years and was a great QB coach too
So he was just Fired

Exactly what are you saying...
We didn't go this route with CEO? Did we all just get trolled and Herman gets announced today or something?
Do we not want a top-tier OC to go with CEO? Is that what you are insinuating?
If we had been able to get Herman we still needed another OC? Are you insinuating that CEO and Herman are on the same level as far as X & O's offensively?
Whatever do you mean? Or... do you just want to lash out because you extrapolated my statement of 'because we've gone this route with CEO', which is a plain fact, to mean something other than that?
quote:I really really like Meacham. If he would leave Patterson and TCU that should be the #1 target. I thought he should have gotten some looks for the HC job along with Mike MacIntyre (not a OC possibility, obviously).
