Do I think we should have more than 1? Certainly.
There really isn’t this huge gap everyone thinks there is between schools like LSU, Florida, Vanderbilt, UCLA etc. All those coaches have an equal amount of CWS success as PM. I refute the argument that it would as simple as firing Paul and picking a name out of a hat to find a better replacement.

no one is lying about you. I’ve literally quoted your exact post.
you’re absolutely bonkers dude
Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for you to post facts supporting your argument since you refute the facts posted in this thread

quote:this always gets brought up when i post the cws records. i'm not talking about winning the nc. it is not unreasonable for people to say that the top program (budget, facilities, recruiting, exposure, fan support) should have the best cws w/l record, percentage over a 9 year period.
We're all frustrated that we've only won 1 national title during his tenure instead of 2 or 3

Getting a national seed puts you on the inside track to getting to Omaha. Can’t win a title without getting there first. LSU puts themselves in position to win a title just about every year heading into postseason. we were favorites to win it all preseason this year and there’s still half a season to turn it around and if they don’t turn it around it’ll be an anomaly
Posted on 3/27/19 at 9:07 pm to Madking
Who would you like to see us hire in his place?

Getting to Omaha is the goal for every coach and program in America. It’s very very hard to get there, and we’ve done that as well as anyone but Florida (barely) since Mainieri has been here
quote:coaches have been fired for less
You don’t fire a coach based on those results

quote:I agree to an extent. However I think you believe the gap between LSU and these other schools is much bigger than it is in reality.

That said, should we have the best CWS winning % over the ten year span? Sure. Let’s agree on that. I disagree that the only change is simply firing Paul and putting any of those names in his place.

So PM has been outperformed in the CWS over the last ten years by one coach
quote:if you throw in the title from 10 years ago, perhaps. if you look at what's been done in the 9 years since, no way.
That’s plain fact

When he was hired, Manieri was going to win three more championships for us. Where are they? He has had his chance.

Mainieri is a top 5 coach in this sport right now
quote:maybe for people who claim that national seeds actually mean something.
That is not up for debate

Who’s your top 5?
Posted on 3/27/19 at 9:11 pm to bfniii
If you want to play that game, we can go back 2 years when we just played for the title. Jesus. You can’t just throw out a year of success.

Let Kim Mulkey coach the baseball team. Her son plays baseball you know...

quote:the people who defend mainieri absolutely have to throw in the title from a decade ago. i'm looking at the trend. if this team doesn't have a major, major turnaround, mainieri could fall out of the TOP 10 in cws record over the last DECADE. i'm baffled at people who make excuses for that
over the last ten years

Good question. Do I get my pick of everyone or do we go with possibles or what?
Posted on 3/27/19 at 9:14 pm to Madking
quote:i can't explain how people don't realize this is common sense. other coaches are doing more with less over a 9 year period
You can’t put what CPM is doing at the nations top program on the same level as say a sub belt level coach
Posted on 3/27/19 at 9:15 pm to deaux
Lol but I’ve made multiple statements about CPMs title in multiple context. Yet you’re using your own context as a blanket description. Like I said you’re a liar

quote:I have not asked you a single “gotcha” question. If you think I have please quote it.
if you want to play gotcha do your own corrections when you frick up. I’m tired of correcting you people misquotes and posts taken out of context. It’s pathetic
If I have misquoted you it may be because I’m having trouble understanding some of your posts. Your use of run on sentences and lack of correct punctuation has forced me to re-read many of your posts. And even then I have had to guess at your posts’ meaning. That was why I asked if you’re drunk. If you’re not drunk posting you’re doing a hell of a good imitation of it.
Once again, what have I lied about? I’d really like to know what you think I posted was a lie.
Posted on 3/27/19 at 9:16 pm to lsufball19
quote:not an excuse to keep mainieri
The problem is the few coaches who could maybe do better than Paul are almost all 100% locked in at their current job
quote:i totally agree with this. anyone else is going to be a risk and there is no guarantee they could duplicate pm's success
I think a lot of people think that anyone could win here (false) and that anyone would take the job if we simply ask
Posted on 3/27/19 at 9:16 pm to bfniii
It’s because all these people who tell everyone “they just don’t know the finer points of baseball” actually have zero knowledge of college baseball or baseball in general and they want to suppress anyth My tgat cuallenfes theyr bubble echo chamber.
