The problem is the few coaches who could maybe do better than Paul are almost all 100% locked in at their current job. Corbin is never leaving Vandy. O’Sullivan is never leaving Florida (highest paid coach in the country and they’re building him a stadium), I honestly don’t think Schloss is leaving TCU after he told State “no” so quickly. Outside that there’s some flyers like McDonnell or Tadlock. The rest are either just not better or would be a huge risk. It’s a very small group who would be reasonable candidates for the job and that pool is tiny for coaches that would leave where they are.
I think a lot of people think that anyone could win here (false) and that anyone would take the job if we simply ask (also false).

You really have to go dig into it ya know. Baseball just isn’t as popular as the other two so we don’t hear these names regularly or even for example, during the basketball tourney when mid major coaches make their name.

All you need to know is that all the other coaches are so good, none have outperformed PM over the last ten years. You could make an argument for O’Sullivan, yet he has the same amount of titles and look at them this year.

A program like LSU really can’t afford to take a risk on a young upcoming mid-major coach without some SOLID credentials. One, our fan base would lose their collective shite if that happened. Second, and more importantly, those guys are like flipping a coin. I don’t believe LSU would ever take a risk like that. They will hire a coach with a pedigree and pay him a lot of money.

I Kingy's point that there could be other coaches at a smaller school that are ready to move up to the big time just like Will Wade did. Obviously minus the phone conversations.

You said that CPM only has one NC as the head coach of LSU, and yes that is a fact, but then you said that that’s unacceptable in the same sentence. Which then turned that fact into an opinion.
