Are they not? Only Harden has really been left out thus far. He struggled in the scrimmages leading up to the season, so probably lost some ground on getting at bats right now. Jay wouldn't hesitate to use Patrick in LF if the rest are retarded out there.

Reaves is a better OF than INF.

Simpson would probably be out there if it were a LHP.

I'd like to see little more of Harden. I know he struggled leading up to the season, but those scrimmages are not always totally indicative (good or bad). Jay even mentioned how Carraway was a different guy when opening day arrived.

I have no clue, that’s why I’m asking the question. I asked who the 4th OF was and you responded with Harden and Braun, but neither of those guys have started the past two games. Again, I’m not questioning the decision, I’m just curious. Like of Saturday night if someone said that Stanfield was going to be out the next two games, everyone guess who will get the starts in LF, what percentage of people would have said Simpson and Reaves?

Most that have followed along with this roster since the fall.

ETA: And, I say that because it has been very clear that Simpson, Dardar, Reaves, and Braun would find the way to the lineup. It just may not be at their natural position. Serna's going to play. Again, who's the 4th OF? Harden or Braun, but it's very dependent on the rest of the lineup. And even R/L matchups.

Most people would have had Simpson and Reaves starting in LF over the other guys? Damn I guess I put too much stock into Adam’s preview

The starters are set…Chris Stanfield in left field, Derek Curiel in center field, and Jake Brown in right field. Behind these three there’s three obvious choices in Daniel Harden, William Patrick, and Mason Braun.

In the context of: It's early in the season and Jay is trying to work out 2B/3B/DH, yes.

Does the same thing happen in May? Probably not.

I just think it’s interesting to say that Braun is the 4th OF and then say that most people would have expected Reaves to start in LF while Braun is at DH. That’s confusing to me. I would think you would want the 4th OF to get reps in the OF over the 6th or 7th OF, if they are both in the lineup.

OF reps are less important at this stage of the season than at bats.

Also, if you want to do the reps thing, Reaves probably needs more defensive reps than Braun in the OF.

If we needed someone to actually play the field in the outfield, (like in the sense that outfield defense is hugely important) it will be Hardin or Patrick.

If you think he’s going to get PT in the outfield I guess so. If you think he’s the 7th option, then I would tend to disagree. Braun’s still a true freshman. If he’s really the 4th option, he needs reps as well.

Idk man. Braun might start in left on Wednesday.

Not trying to be a dick but we're just going in circles here. They both need reps. As does Simpson. As does Serna. As does Carraway. Unless there's an injury, you're going to see a lot of combinations at 2B, 3B, and DH.

I think Braun gets more AB than Reaves this year. I think he is more likely than not the actual 4th OF. I think Jay is just putting Reaves at LF tonight to get him in the lineup. Probably had Braun penciled in at DH already.

You’re not being a dick. You replied to me so I replied back.

I recognize that. I don’t have a problem with all of these guys getting reps.

Right, but I’m talking about left field. Which is why I was surprised that Reaves got the start there.

I’m just saying I would’ve expected Braun to get the start in LF with Reaves at DH. That’s all I’m saying. DRock is saying that most people would have expected Simpson and Reaves to get the starts if Stanfield was out. That’s why I was confused.

DRock, any ideas when either of the 4th OF options are going to get a start in the outfield?

CJJ has been, for him, fairly open about the i jury. Early on he said it was just bruise on the bone type injury. with no need to rush him back. "We know what he can do". This weekend CJJ said they had him in the outfield, catching & throwing. No mention about any hitting. But from day one he's said it's nothing serious & it gives him an opportunity to get others playing time,

He is available for defense and pinch running.

What does 4/56 mean? I haven't paid attention yet this year but I know they've played more than 3 games

Our version of murderers row. Would be fun to see how many hrs we could hit if we played at Oklahoma today. Wind blowing out straight out to center field about 15 to 25 mph.
