We are in a great position with AE and Evans …..

Poorly worded question. If we're 1 game behind Vandy, and tied with UGA, who ends up 5th. So Vandy, and UGA both win tomorrow, and we lose. Where do we end up.
We end up 5th. Georgia would be 13-8 and we’d be 12-9 against common opponents.

Someone make sense of this for me.
If there’s a 3 way tie between us, Vandy and UGA for seeds 3 and 4, we’ll end up having 1 more common opponent win than Vandy but 1 less common opponent win than UGA. However, Vandy beat UGA head to head 3-0.
Who gets the 3rd and 4th seeds?

Top 3 seed if we win tomorrow
2 way tie with Arkansas:
2 seed LSU
3 seed Arkansas
2 way tie with Vanderbilt:
3 seed LSU: 11-7 common opponents
4 seed Vanderbilt 8-10 common games
3 way tie with Arkansas and Vanderbilt:
2 seed Vanderbilt 2-1 vs Tennessee 2-1 vs Texas A&M
3 seed LSU 2-1 vs Tennessee 1-2 vs Texas A&M
4 seed Arkansas 1-2 vs Tennessee

AE and Evans
Hopefully we don't need to bring Evans back tomorrow. Lets get a 10 run rule 7 inning masterpiece from AE and be on our way.
Start Schmidt Thursday in Hoover win or lose and get ready for our national seed.

Let's not leave it in the hands of the tiebreaker. Let's just go out and win tomorrow.
Im also rooting for Kentucky and Avg&Mediocre tomorrow. And I absolutely hate the aggies.

If a win tomorrow locks up the 3-seed in Hoover, does Anderson start Friday but on a strict pitch count similar to Skenes?

So to lock up at least #4 we need to win or have UGA lose.

Minor deal in the grand scheme of things but looking at SECT schedule, Seeds 1 and 4 play Thu, 2 and 3 play Fri. So to keep Kade on his normal schedule we need to avoid the 4 seed.

And if we're real greedy, we need to win tomorrow, and pull for Tennessee, and Kentucky. End up 2nd and play on Friday.

losing the series to USC would be ugly. I doubt we’d drop out of the top 8 but why leave it to chance even if it’s unlikely
Their pitching left for tomorrow is bad. If we hit as well as we did today, it could be a run rule. We need to end it early.

The first tiebreaker since we don’t play is record against common opponents. They were ahead of us on that tiebreaker coming into this weekend
I’m pretty sure we are both 9-9 in common opponents or am I wrong? Actually I double checked. We are 10-8 and they are 9-9. We are the 3 ahead of them. This weekends games don’t matter towards that as neither are common opponents.
We might have the conference tiebreaker, but the regional seeds are done via committee (perception).
Which may put us behind Vandy as a national seed... we played Mizzou and South Carolina, the 2 worst teams in the conference. They didn't. So if we have a tie in conference, some might say that's advantage Vandy.

If Vandy wins and Georgia wins and LSU loses tomorrow final standings are
1 Texas
2 Arkansas
3 Vanderbilt 19-11
4 Georgia 18-12
4 LSU 18-12
LSU would be the 5 seed so we need to win tomorrow to clinch a top 4 seed regardless what happens in other games.
Common opponents record:
Georgia 13-8
LSU 12-9
1 Texas
2 Arkansas
3 Vanderbilt 19-11
4 Georgia 18-12
4 LSU 18-12
LSU would be the 5 seed so we need to win tomorrow to clinch a top 4 seed regardless what happens in other games.
Common opponents record:
Georgia 13-8
LSU 12-9

That’s the way I see it too.

Couldn’t disagree with the OP more.

I made mine:

With a win we can clinch the series, a double bye in the SECt and a top 8 national seed.
quote:
if we lose tomorrow and Georgia wins we’d both be 18-12. Georgia has the common opponents record tiebreaker on us if they win tomorrow and we lose tomorrow:
Georgia 13-8
LSU 12-9
What other game this year win or lose had higher stakes going in?

Screw tournament we lock up top 8
Regional and super. Rest our players

Shouldn’t matter though. I believe that in the eyes of the committee the hierarchy is currently Texas, Arkansas, Vandy, LSU/Georgia. So basically it’d require the SEC to only get 4 top 8s for us to be possibly left out. I believe we get 5. Just my opinion of course.
