Correct. LSU is working with all in-state schools to keep Louisiana kids in state and the camps at LSU and other Louisiana schools are designed to do that. Why anyone would want to feature out of state schools over say La Tech, Southern, Tulane, Southeastern, etc. is beyond me. Why should Louisiana help Belhaven or Texas or Ole Miss or Texas Tech or whoever over in state schools?
Let these out of state schools get off their asses come into Louisiana and actually go to the high schools and recruit.

I'll take a dominating bowl win over a Heisman winner
Probably not the best example, considering Houston sacked Lamar Jackson 11 times...
And yet his numbers were worse against LSU than Houston (LSU sacked him 8 time FWIW)

LSU didnt play and lose to SMU, Navy, Uconn either. Why dont the Texicans ever look at the whole Herman story?

What is amazing is Tom Herman has everyone running scared and he hasn't coached a single game for the Longhorns.
He has Ed O. getting butthurt and running scared in the recruiting of his backyard and he scared Bob Stoops into retiring in lieu of losing to Texas every year. Very noble and honorable of Bob Stoops by the way.

Can someone explain to me how Herman fell so hard in such a short amount of time? Wasn't he highly regarded not even a year ago and wanted by most every LSU fan, but the last few months he's a loser that nobody wants. I don't get it.

You guys going back and forth with your false bravado. Have either of you two ever played the game you go back and forth together and immaturely toss brickbats? Ridiculous!
Both coaches are great for their respective schools. Stupid sports mentality by people who would get knocked on their behinds on the field of play!

First time on this website? First time seeing the ridiculously emotional message board LSU fans?
Yes, it seems like the majority of LSU fans on this website wanted Herman to be LSU's coach. Why? Beats the hell out of me.
Once he was not hired and the emotions had calmed I think they (MSB fans) started to actually looks at stats and records.
One constant reason given for wanting him was that he was an offensive guru and could run that side of the ball.
A little examination shows that in Houston's loss to SMU - who was a 23 point underdog to Houston - Herman gained a whopping 303 total yards. In their win against Tulane he gained a total of 287 yards. That is not good and does not garner "guru" status. It was bad by itself even without considering how much more talent Houston had compared to lowly SMU and Tulane.
Another was his stellar record with the Houston program.
In his first season it was pretty good. He did have a very bad hiccup in losing to UCONN. Hell, I didn't even know UCONN had a football team until I saw Herman had lost to them after I started looking at why people wanted him. His second season started out great also. Then in the 6th game Herman ran into the juggernaut known as Navy and lost. Then two weeks later he lost to SMU, yes SMU (again a 23 point dog to Herman). Then he lost to Memphis a few weeks later. The last part of his 2nd season he finished 4-3 and would have finished 4-4 but he bolted before the bowl game. This was with the most talented team in his conference.
May have just as well kept Les Miles if your going to hire a guy that with the most talented team finishes 4-3. Offensive guru or not.

Some Rant posters may have wanted him because he kisses his players and seems to really get into it.
I'm not sure how that shite would go over at LSU. I know I wouldn't want my son to go and play for a coach who going to be kissing him all the time. That's just weird.
Bottom line is a lot of message board LSU fans wanted him and thought he was a great coach. I don't and never have gotten it. He was only a HC for 2 seasons and man did he suck the last 7 games of his second season. Again that was with the most talented team in his conference. The disparity in talent between teams in the SEC is not close to that of the teams in the AAC. He may have done decent in his first year at LSU if his very limited trend at Houston repeated. It would have been a shite storm after that.
LSU dodged a bullet. Thank GOD Texas was dumb enough to hire that guy out from under LSU !!!!
