Kevin's jersey should be retired at LSU. He was the single most important player in "bringing the magic back" to LSU football.

Absolutely the most important single player of the last 30 years - really only Dorsey, Peterson and, yes, the Badger are even in the same conversation - and all of those players came to an LSU program that had already been reborn.

Faulk stayed home at a time when it would have been easy for the best player in the state, maybe the south, to have gone to Florida State or wherever.

Quick 6 - All Eyes on 3. Good times.

I think that's more coincidence than anything. Maravich's jersey is retired and he did not graduate.

And I should have added Buga, but he's still an active player with 2 seasons of record.

Let's get him through a championship and Heisman campaign and he can truly immortalize #7.

LOL at Patrick Pass acting as if he can't quite remember the UGA game from 1998 and then immediately reciting the vitals:

Remember that time when Faulk beat the entire Houston football team? It was like 1 on 11 (okay, Faneca helped - ).

Yep, September 1996. I was overseas and had to call my dad. He held the phone up to the radio for the 4th quarter.

I was at that game. I think it was 14-34 going into the 4th and Faulk turned it into a 35-34 win.

That is on the short list of most impressive athletic performances that I've seen live.

Did Faulk graduate? Just asking because I thought that was an unwritten rule that a player must have graduated from LSU?

Yes, in 3 1/2 years!!!

His draft stock might have actually been a little higher after his junior year but he came back for 2 main reasons: 1) To get his degree, he was one or the first or maybe the first in his family to do that, and 2) To win an SEC title. LSU was legit loaded with a senior QB, but Tepper.

I understand the hesitancy to retire #s in college bc of the #s of guys on the team that require specific jersey #s.

That being said, I think adding Faulk to the Ring of Honor should be done in the next few years. Other people could still wear his # but he would be immortalized in TS.

I agree. When I said retire his jersey, this is what I meant.
