Based on what? Our defense is very good, but what metrics is it top 5 in?

Am I reading their site right that they still have Auburn ranked a good bit higher than LSU?

Im talking about defense only because that's what the previous guy was talking about

Offense is 76th. Defense is 6th.

21st overall ranking. We did drop 9 spots even though winning on the road at Auburn.

His body of work. His opportunities he has been gifted. His inability to gain any type of weight to benefit him in taking hits in the SEC.

He is not an SEC QB. Never will be. He can be great in another conference under another coach. The first that comes to mind is Oklahoma State or possibly UCLA.

Time to move on

It's really weird how you can look at his limited body of work and have this strong of an opinion against him. You could very well be right, but it's always seemed like you have something personal against him.

Holding Auburn to 0 points when it mattered. Stopping Miami when it mattered.
Holding southeastern to zero points. It’s FCS I know but anytime you goose egg someone that’s impressive.

It’s situational Defensive stops that make them top 5. Stats don’t matter just yet.

lolz wut?

Stats are what’s used to rank anything on earth.

“Situational stops makes them top 5”

So please list the situational stops of the other 4 above LSU.

A top defense consist of statistical categories which shows QB pressures, sacks, turnovers, pass deflections, yards given up, ppg, etc.

You can’t tell me a defense is a certain rank based on situational stops.

ETA: I still think they’re nasty and a top defense, but where they’re ranked is based off a body of work.

I checked the stats. Right now Southern Miss is the best defense in the country. Dude it’s week 3 I said stats matter but not this early. You don’t have to be a dick about it. USM is #1 because they haven’t played anybody good yet. We have.

Problem with Tech is they can score and they are well coached. They would be favored over Arkansas on a neutral field (and maybe even in Fayetteville) They would have zero chance against an amped-up LSU defense. But we may not get that on Saturday, at least not beyond a quarter or so. I don't expect LSU to throw more than 25 times to avoid exposing Burrow to unnecessary hits.

yes, and slamming comments about a true sophomore QB with minimal game experience from last year is not very appealing to read either.

Brennan may not work out longer-term, but who is to say with certainty that he's terrible, or won't develop over the next year or two. LSU has never come close to winning a championship with a very young QB - at a minimum, most QB's need 2 full years in the program.
