The only call that would have been wrong there was to do nothing.

The count and putting on the hit run was a good call just as the bunt would have been a good call. It just baseball stuff like that happens. Rhymes hit the ball just hard enough to the one spot that allowed for a DP.

Skip retired because he had done it all and he had other goals.

I can't think of a more versatile coach that changed his strategy to the strength of that year's team. In the 80s and early 90s his teams were dominated by pitching and he won. In the late 90s the big bats dominated and he still won.

Except Skip favored pitching and was a pitching coach before LSU...

Todd said he ran into Coach Skip today walking in the ballpark, and he agreed with the no bunt. Coach Skip said a bunt would of tied and LSU plays to win. Thoughts????

I doubt Skip said "would of".

Agree. 2-0 count with a guy who has led the country in hitting, tempting to let him swing away. On the other hand, he has not bunted much his entire career, and you had a sinker ball pitcher throwing to a double play hitter. Tough call either way, but I do not have a problem with PM's decision. Alot of it depends on how you feel with the guys hitting behind Raph.

Raph is also a good contact hitter.
