We have no depth on the DL or the OL. But yes, let's make excuses for Miles in 2008 and 2014 and blame a coach who hasn't even had the job a full year.

For the DL? Yes. Absolutely, as he was the DL coach and head recruiter. Also how many OL have transferred since O took over? He also retained Grimes.

And you should also blame O for the lack of discipline that created even more lack of depth during the game.

why don't you explain why it is all his fault since you're the one blaming him for inheriting a depleted roster

He didn't inherit a depleted offensive line. He inherited a full 3 deep at every position. He then lost 5 of those players on his watch.

This really isn't that difficult.

They're pretty good, but I believe also they lose those 3 games and maybe another one as well.

Miles was 11-1 against Miss State.. Coach O is now 1-3 against Miss St. including a 35-14 Loss to a 3 win Miss St. team while at Ole Miss...but of course he learned so from ALL his mistakes at Ole Miss.

2005 Miss St. 35-14 (Coach O, Ole Miss)
2017 Miss St. 37-7 (Coach O, LSU)

The more things change the more they stay the same.

In the 111 year history of Moo St vs LSU, this was the worse loss for LSU ever.

But yeah, keeping saying the loss to Auburn was the same... idiot.

How does this prove anything? We fired Miles. Why is Oregeron doing the same acceptable?

Oh I don't know, maybe it's because he is doing it with with a core of LESS MILES former players and demonstrating at the same time the unhinged O haters are deliberately presenting things out of context as they usually do to smear O.

Players transfer when staff changes are made. Les Miles signed a class of 12 people the year Saban quit. Was that Miles' fault?

We lost a total of like 7 seniors from 2004. 2005 was going to be a small class whether the coach was Miles, Saban, or Orgeron.

yep

maybe O should've offered more olineman instead of almost losing our 2 committed qbs by offering a qb that was nevrr coming here.

Who the school is is irrelevant. If State turns out to be a 10+ win team, it isn't devalued because "they're mississippi state." No it's not insane to compare the two games.

Agreed. People also quickly forget that MSU was recently the #1 team in the country for a short time.

They led by 24 in the 4th quarter. They took a 14 point lead at the 12:44 mark in the 3rd quarter and took a 24 point lead at the 14:50 mark in the 4th. LSU didn't cut it back down to a 14 point lead until there was 1:55 left in the game. State had a 14+ point lead almost the entire 2nd half

And it was 17-3 at halftime. We made it 17-10 in the first play of the second half by way of a fumble return for a TD.

Yep for 5 weeks until they lost to Alabama in November. And our fans bitched just as much that year for getting beat by "just Mississippi state"

But the difference is LSU kept fighting and playing hard and it became a 5 point game with LSU having a chance to win at the end. Did you see any fight at all from LSU when things didn't go there way last weekend? It is not the fact that they lost but how they lost. No fight, dumb penalties, players getting ejected etc. What concerns me the most is not that they lost but what seems to be an evident lack of effort and discipline from the entire team.

Auburn that was fresh off a Championship appearance.

LSU was "fresh off a championship appearance" in 2008, but that didn't change the fact that we were a mediocre 8-5 team, just like Auburn in 2014.

Thanks for pulling this one out of the history file, Sev. I posted earlier that Miles had never been beaten as bad as this Miss State loss. I stand corrected. Knowledge is power.

it is just miss st.
they have one ranked finish since 2011.
since 2011 they have finished above .500 in sec play, just ONCE.
since 2011 they have finished above 5th in the west just 2 times.
