re: To everyone complaining about Iowa. They feel the same way about playing us

We've won another national championship and played for another since we've played Iowa.
Iowa has done nothing and is located in Iowa....Every time I have to fly for work, from NYC to SF and we're over Iowa, I think, fricking great only 3 more hours to go. Its state identity is "flyover state"
LSU has top 5 ratings in tv ratings.
Safe to say, my disappointment in playing them is much more than their disappointment in playing us.
So frick Iowa, their fans, and you're welcome you're allowed on the field with us.
I rather play a shitty Michigan team than a good Iowa team. How's that?
Have a great day.
In reality....I do want to even the series up. I hate having a losing series record to any team. Especially out of conference teams. I sat in the stands of the 2005 Capital One Bowl. Amazing comeback by JaMarcus only to be cancelled out by that hail mary.

My only hope is we can finally win another bowl game. It has been a while!

Just because Iowans are complaining too, should we feel justified about the match up?
Last year, Clemson was geeked about playing LSU and with the result. It helped their cred and they were happy. LSU was not happy about the match up and did not perform well. Was LSU supposed to be geeked too because the opponent was happy?
If you are this concerned for them, go express it in one of their forums.

If they watched LSU put Johnny Football and the Aggies in a box and kick them up and down the field its little wonder they would rather play A&M.

who in the frick cares about Iowa's perception of any team? We're talking about a football program that is giddy to lock up a coach long term that can consistently lead them to mediocrity

So if Iowa somehow manages to beat mighty LSU, how many of you jokers will be back to take your medicine?
I'm betting about 1% of you. Maybe. BAU
No EXCUSES either.....back up QB, weather, no motivation....sun was in their eyes.....Edited to add: phantom holding call on a last 2nd TD.... :)

We won the "Game of the Century", everything else is irrelevant, right?

Again, most Iowa fans are just happy to have rebuilt yet again. We have T10 finishes, quality wins against SEC opponents, a winning bowl game record (BCS era, not ancient history) and will play you tough.
You're reading too much in to the lunatic fringe from the message boards.
We welcome the opportunity to play another quality SEC team. We've done pretty well against them.
While I understand your frustration over the penalty/no penalty in the last game, one needs only to look at what happened to us by the officials the last time we played Florida. We should be undefeated against the SEC. We're not. That's the way it goes.

that would be incorrect. Most flamers tuck their tail and go into hiding for a while after talking smack before their team loses.
I suspect we know which one you are........

Hey Golfer
Did u hit em str8 today? LOL
I like your swag my friend. 3-1 and could easily be 4-0 against the SEC. Long term stable program and HC; team is on the upswing and will be fired up as much as Clemson last year, who is now in the Orange Bowl. LSU 7 point favorites last year and 8 point favorites this year.
LSU better be ready and all this talk about playing freshman writing this season off and getting ready for next year bodes well for you guys.
Still like the Tigers but nervous here.

It will be a good game hopefully.
I leave for Florida the 20th. I'll play down there. My golf balls doesn't go straight, it usually goes right to left, sometime violently.

I don't understand why they wouldn't want to play the third best team in the western division of the SEC.
All of our losses were to quality opponents. A healthy UGA, Bama and upcoming Ole Miss.
We beat the Texas A&M and 2Auburn.
This is a bad bowl scenario for LSU. We need the D to play for 4 quarters and deal with adversity given by a freshman QB. Jennings needs to be on point and we need to execute run blocking. They might not be fast but they have a big front seven.

There are about 10 people on the better Iowa message boards who have an irrational infatuation with Johnny Football. The vast majority look forward to playing another quality SEC team. Especially those of us who had the opportunity to interact with LSU fans at our last meeting.

You seem to hold yourself in a high regard. Like you've somehow come onto our board and said something that would make US not want to post anymore.
Get over yourself. Your a fricking Iowa fan
They must pump mediocrity into the water up there. You posters take after your football team.

If we lose to Iowa it's official decline and we lose all "elite status". If we don't win by 21+ I will not be happy.

This is what I don't like about fans from certain schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama, USC, Miami, Florida, Texas etc... LSU
They think so highly of their history and tradition and think they are above everyone else. And they also seem to be closed minded on the tradition and history of any school with less national championships.
Yes LSU has had more success in college football than Iowa. No one is going to argue that. But if you think Iowa fans are not proud of their history and tradition then you're a moron. And you've been drinking too much swamp water and need to realize there's a whole country outside of the bayou.
Iowa has only had 1 losing season in the last 13 years. Has beaten Florida, South Carolina, Missouri, Georgia Tech, and LSU in bowl games in the last 10 years. All being 9+ win seasons.
We've had many award winners including Maxwell, Doak Walker, Lou Groza, Mackey, Coach of the Year.
We have a Heisman winner that the stadium is named after.
We've had 3 other Heisman runner ups.
We have many players in the NFL. I don't know what it is right now, but a few years ago there were only a handful of teams with more draft picks over a 5 year period.
I could go on and on about Iowa's football history. I could talk about #1 Iowa vs. #2 Michigan in 1985, Hayden Fry, Alex Karras, 15 straight wins over Iowa State.
I'm not gonna bore you anymore... this is already too long didn't read material... but my point is... Iowans are proud of their tradition and history in football. And we don't give a sh*t if you are or not.
