Not being an LSU fan, I did not vote. I have a question for those who think that LSU will lose to Auburn, but in nearly every case predicted LSU to beat Alabama. How about giving your analysis as to why this scenerio will happen. thanks Bearcat

UNC- W 31-7 We come out focused and ready. Carve up their D and feed it to them.

Vany- W 28-13 Close first half then we come out and finish it off

Miss St W 35-14 Never a close match

West Virginia W 28-17 Close game to the last qtr and we finish out with a key TD and a turnover

Tenn W 31-10 Its hard to predict this score because I dont know how good they'll really be. I see us cruising though.

Fla- L 21-17 We play strong all game and come up short

McNeese W

Auburn- L 24-21 Close game but once again can't finish

Alabama W- 21-17 We come back regrouped and refresh. We pull this one out finally

UL- W

Ole Miss - W 35-21 First half is a scare but we cruise afterward

Arkansas 42-38 OT- Close close game that we catch the break on again

Win the West on tie breaker

Because every time we play one of those teams in the state of Alabama, where the SEC office is located and all officials are hired from, we tend to get the short end of the stick in the way the calls go throughout the game. Catches get overturned, penalty flags get picked up, holding calls go one way, interceptions don't happen even when they do... The track record is clear and we play Bama at home and Auburn on the road.

I hate picking individual games several months ahead, but I look at like this: Auburn should be improved and Bama should be worse (they lose 10 starters on defense, and there's no way they'll have that absurd TO ratio again). Arkansas also looks like contender and Ole Miss should fall back a bit.

That means their are four teams of roughly equal quality on top of the West. Bama's likely the best of the group, but the gap is more narrow than people think. Any finish between those four teams would not surprise me. We could very easily win all three or lose all three against that group. It will determine our season (and their seasons as well).

Most likely, the four teams will go a combo of 2-1 or 1-2 against one another, and how they do vs. the East will determine the division.

ETA: To be clear, the group of four is Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, and LSU.

We could very well end with 6 losses. If we lose the UNC game, the wheels will come off for the rest of the season. BEating UNC would be a upset.

I think 4 to 5 is most likely.

I think we lose to UNC, Fla, Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas.

Baloo:

And North Carolina makes 4 such games, which can go either way, and which will make or break both teams season.

The thing about the UNC game is that it is OOC. We can lose that game by 50 and it has no bearing on the SEC race. I go into each season with the desire to win the SEC title, since the MNC race just requires variables we can't control. So UNC is on a level below in importance not due to quality, but due to its impact. We can win the SEC regardless of what happens in the UNC game.

Lets see how LSU would recover from a 50 pt loss to open the season. You could forget about the SEC from then on.

We are a decent team and I don't see why we can't be in a position to win 'em all. Screw the 10-2. As a fan, I am going to walk into every game thinking we can win it.

UNC - Toss Up
@Vandy - Win
MSU - Win
WVU - Toss up
UT - Toss up
@UF - Loss
McNeese St. - Win
@Auburn - Toss Up
Alabama - Loss
ULM - Win
Ole Miss - Win
@Arkie - Toss Up

So I have us at 5 - 2 with five "toss-up" games. Being optimistic, let's say we get a favorable break in the toss-ups and go 3 - 2. That would leave us with an 8 - 4 record.

So I'd say that 9 - 3 would mean we played above our heads. 10 - 2 would be almost unthinkable at this point.

Fans should be ready for an 8 - 4 or 7 - 5 season and hope we don't underachieve.

With respect, unless you plan on changing your user name to "Nostradamus", you can't say "will". Only "maybe".

The truth is, no one knows anything for sure. For every projected shortcoming there's a an equally valid reason to be optimistic.

My opinion is, everything else being equal, if the offensive line is improved from last year, there are no guaranteed losses on the schedule.

At all.

It honestly wouldn't take much to improve the o-line from last year.
