Your post was too long, but I take it that you were making a list of the good things LM has done since arriving at LSU. I'll grant you that when he had two stud coordinators that he was very successful and recruited well. Other than the obvious shortocmings in the two minute drill that are unacceptable for any coach at this level, the to biggest mistakes LM has made were the Malaveto debacle and not firing Crowton at the end of last year.
Miles has to have great coordinators. He's just not that good of a game day coach. He looks utterly lost out there when the clock is winding down.

I used to be on the Miles bandwagon, hell, I was driving it.
I was pretty indifferent when we hired him. I was willing to put the problem of 2005 and 2006 behind and move on. I accepted the reasons and explanations and circumstances of those two seasons. The in 2007, I was a Miles Maniac. I didn't care about the inconsistent play, his quirkiness, and his style. I bought into "Lesticles" and "The Mad Hatter". His Saturday morning press conference was amazing. I dismissed just about all criticism of Les by pointing at the crystal football.
Now, and the last 2 seasons, the inconsistent play, his quirkiness, and his style is annoying, frustrating, and pisses me off. I don't know what "it" is, but the first three years, Les had "it"... "it" is gone now.

Just out of curiosity, how much is LSU paying you to write all of this bullshite? With all the talks of budget cuts, you think LSU could save some money by firing all of their sunshine pumping internet message board marketers in the Athletic Department.

We're stuck with him until the end of the season. Let's wait and see how he finishes.
Then get rid of the bum if he finishes poorly.

Yeah, lets wait until after the ship sinks before we attempt to keep it afloat

How about we are a competent coach away from SEC title contention.
To the OP - don't be afraid to succeed. Eliminate the weak link in the program and we'll get better.

It's not fair to Miles to not acknowledge the good things he has done while he's been here. But his failures and short-comings over the years are adding up quickly, and it's becoming apparent that he's leading this team in the wrong direction.

Miles isn't going anywhere before the end of the season. He was one penalty flag away from the end of his LSU career more than likely, but we won. Now he'll get the rest of the season to make it. I've been a Miles supporter and still will support him because he's LSU's coach. But yesterday was unacceptable and unbelievable, after the Ole Myth debacle last year. I hope we win the rest, but we'll need massive improvement to win nine now.

Has Les Miles done some good things? Yes. Has he done bad things? Of course. But the fact that this poor clock management happened, again, begs the question, should he be coaching football? The end of that game was an embarrassment to the game of football. If Bill Walsh and Vince Lombardi were alive to see this, they would be spinning in their graves. LSU went from the best team in the country, to having a rebuilding year, to being an absolute joke. Because that is all we are at this point. Yea, we are 5-0, but we shouldn't be.

The short-sighted invidual is the person who doesn't realize that Miles will continue to destroy this program from the inside. The simple definition of short-sighted is failing to see what is best in the long run. Having Miles continue to run this program (into the ground) is not the best thing in the long run.
In reality, short-sighted is the person who thinks all is well because we are 5-0.

Les isn't a bad coach. He is a decent coach with some very bad attributes. Overall, his teams are successful. Those things that he does poorly will eventually catch up to him though.

They did, at Oxcart last year. The flag in the Tenn game yesterday saved his arse from being canned.

Les is the LUCKIEST coach I've ever seen. Other coaches have been lucky, but not nearly as consistent with their luck.

"it" was the absolutely stacked amount of NFL talent. go look and see, LSU has the most nfl players above anyone else.
9 losses the past 2 years. we'll see how this season unfolds......

Hasn't yet. Those are merely the symptoms you see. Eventually his talent will stop performing as well as they have been and the losses will begin to mount.
A coach is defined in many ways, and most importantly is the executive function, these days. His teams are successful overall...but the losses will mount soon. Most likely the end of this year and next.

Les Miles proves that coaching football is not rocket science.
