What's it like getting handled in football by McNeese, still have a bad taste in your mouth from that? Or have yall forgotten cause yall so busy trying to play with LSU

here at UL(L), we have... a boisterous sense of school pride
So boisterous that the school newspaper had to BEG students to show their OWN SCHOOL spirit & stop wearing LSU garb during the week of the LSU ulala football game. Something about the players noticed that there were more people on campus wearing LSU hats, shirts, etc than ulala hats, shirts, etc. Walk through campus on any given day, walk in the parking lots on any given day, drive around Lafayette on any given day & you will see more LSU shirts, hats, license plates, bumper stickers, etc than ulala.

I guess I would be upset too, if my team got handled at home by an 'inferior' opponent.
First you would have to find an "inferior" opponent to ulala. Secondly, enjoy the win, savor it, hang a banner, & order some t-shirts. We all understand how big of a deal it is for ulala to get a W over a superior national contender like LSU-that must be a HUGE deal. But just realize, LSU will ALWAYS be LSU & sli, southwestern, usl, ulala,or whatever you want to call it will always be....well, it will always be one of the many regional colleges in Louisiana.

Problem is, when you actually go in for an interview, do you really, really think the guy interviewing really cares where you graduate from?
Yeah, I would say so. If Candidate A went to Vanderbilt and Candidate B went to LSU. I would expect the guy from Vanderbilt would get the job even if the LSU grad had better grades.

Another week and another fan from ULL with a chip on his shoulder.
The Inferiority Complex is Acadiana's curse.
These people walk around feeling aggrieved from the day they are born.
I never understood it, really...

I wonder why the ULL fans didn't show up like this in 2009.

Let's get one other thing straight about UL. They have been strong in baseball for several years and, not too long ago, went to Omaha. UL typically has very good pitching and average offense. Ron Guidry has helped coach pitchers over there for years. Acadiana produces quite a few good baseball players. Lafayette's Little League team was one run away from playing for the international championship in 2005.
My point is that UL is a respectable opponent who will, from time to time, beat LSU in baseball. There's no shame in losing to UL in baseball, and for UL to take a game from LSU is not really a surprise and isn't like winning the world series.

WBRZ was doing a preview of the game and they interviewed a ULL receiver who was all jacked up about them shocking the world. He said a cafeteria lady told him she didn't care if they lost every other game as long as they beat LSU.
Then they cut to the reporter wanting Marcus Spears' reaction to the ULL receiver's comments. He shrugged and said "Bring it on, I guess".

What the frick is not too long ago? Because it has been over a decade ago. LSU won the CWS not too long ago.
They do produce good baseball players and I am a big fan of the coach because I knew him when he was at McNeese, but don't act like they are some juggernaut.
Strong in baseball is a relative term I guess. It is one of their stronger sports, but they aren't strong nationally.

What is your other username? You clearly setup a new account just to post this garbage thread. Probably so you could still post after this embarrassment you've started.

I'm a junior majoring in biology at The University of Louisiana (at Lafayette). Just wanted to come here and address some things that you guys seem to have misconstrued. I am in no way trying to put down your university, even though that's what you guys have been doing on here to UL(L) for the last few days. I guess I would be upset too, if my team got handled at home by an 'inferior' opponent.
Now on to why I'm here. I'm not really sure how LSU fans developed this notion that UL(L) wants to be LSU or even be like LSU. This simply is not the case.
here at UL(L), we have exceptional learning facilities, excellent professors, awesome scenery, a boisterous sense of school pride, and beautiful women just like you do.
Our sports teams might not win championships every season, but our players play their hearts out, every play of every game of every season, just like yours do. I guess you could say we're doing the best that we can with what we've got. What fault do LSU fans find with that?
The whole "penis envy" thing is just ridiculous. There is nothing about our university that is inadequate.
You guys keep doing your thing across the river and we'll keep rocking the red in The Dome, The Swamp, and at The Tigue.
Oh, and check this out, this is what it looks like to have 8,000 fans at a thursday night basketball game.
Is this you 'Jay Walker' aka John Moon ?

However, when the big company's come to town to recruit engineers to a company do you think they go to LSU or ULL?
I won't know if they go to LSU, but i don know they go to ULL, as i have recuited there myself. I supposed they make a trip there once in awhile, but who knows????

Why the hell would Ron Guidry help coach pitchers @ Louisville?!? Isn't he from Louisiana??
Posted on 3/24/11 at 8:10 pm to Lafman
Arguing about which public Louisiana school is better? Being the world's tallest midget must be great, guys.
Bottom line: nobody at LSU gives a crap about ULL, ULM, UL Southeastern, UL Northwestern, UL LaTech, UL McNeese, UL Nichols or UL Grambling, but ULL sure as hell wants to talk crap about LSU all the time.

too funny! i think it works both ways, seeing the large number of post concerning the topic. Oh, and nobody at UL gives a crap about LSUBR, LSU Mamou(trying to church up Eunice for ya, LSU Alexandria or any of the other podunk towns they have classrooms in. Are they opening up a classroom in Cameron next?
