Believe me, I'm not trying to argue against that because I know its true. Just trying to say that an LSU degree is competitive here. Of course, its a small town and who you know is a big deal regardless

Everything here has way more to do with who you know than how much you know and where you learned it.

I guess that's the whole problem I have with Tulane. At least LSU educates it's people and puts most of them back into it's own state. Tulane kids spend half a million dollars on an education then GTFO.

As I previously stated (something to that effect). Again, don't know if you went to Syracuse but you aren't going to blow people away in a place like San Fran or LA with that degree either. Just saying

"However, when the big company's come to town to recruit engineers to a company do you think they go to LSU or ULL?"

They go to both schools. I work for Shell Oil and I attend both career fairs.

I don't know how many ULL puts to work with Shell but I know that LSU has a shite-load in every concentration.

you could transfer to Tulane and get a better education and still keep this stance.

I disagree at least when it comes to engineering. When I got out (BSEE) I was recruited hard by Sandia National Labs and Lucent Technologies (amongst others). It's much more about what you've done personally at your college than the college itself. It's also more dependent on the school's standing in that particular field than the name of the school.

If someone actually chose freely to go to ULL for an engineering/science degree I find that laughable.

I don't think ULL students have any damn idea how far inferior they are on that front. I was well connected at LSU and I was blown away by certain things some of the more elite universities had in comparison.

Tulane is a good school. I will say it isn't really ahead of LSU in the technical programs since LSU has plenty of world and nationally renowned profs. They are pretty close in the programs they still carry. If it cost much more to go to Tulane over LSU in these majors it probably isn't worth it. Nothing bad at all to say about Tulane though.

No, you aren't, nor are you the first person to make multiple mistakes in one thread. For that matter, you aren't the first person to make multiple grammatical errors in a thread focusing on what a first rate education you are receiving...However, it doesn't make it less funny.

Dude ULL is a real shithole. I went there for a semester and the quad reminded me of being in a prison yard like in the movie Sharshanks's Redemption. Plus there are enough figs on campus and in downtown to mirror a prison. I wore purple and gold LSU gear everyday to class just to piss off people like you that think ULL is a flagship school. I could not wait to get back to SLU which is a millions times better than ULL in all the things you mentioned.
