Thank you. I'm glad somebody else caught that. I don't know what the hell English teachers are teaching now, but it sure doesn't look like they are as strict as they used to be.

Anyways, we would love a rematch vs you in the Title game.

Georgia fans made the same excuses and begged for a rematch after our regular season tilt in 2003. Ask them how that worked out for them.

Even though we had many more yards vs you,

will however note that we turned the ball over 4 times and 3 of those times we fumbled the ball near the end zone, making it easy to get those points against us.

And that of course will limit our yards. We didn't go on 60 yard scoring drives because we didn't have to.

Not only that, but we just went into a deep zone defense their last drive and let them rack up more yards.

Now, that does not necessarily mean we lost the game ourselves and you would of not beaten us if we did not gift wrap those 20 points because in honestly, good teams train hard for stripping the ball and such.

That's the difference, LSU converted those turnovers into points. Oregon had their chance on the botched snap - which WAS a giftwrapped turnover - and only managed a FG.

Nice post, sucks when you don't have all your players. LSU was also missing our starting QB and starting WR.

I think the fact that LSU generated pressure with just the Dline forcing Thomas to throw short, quick passes and took away big plays was the difference. Oregon has a good offense, but it looked like Chip Kelly underestimated LSU defense.

Hope you guys learn from this and improve, I'll be rooting for Oregon for the rest of the season.

Yes that play where your DE caught LMJ from behind is cool, however, LMJ was injured during the whole game.
I believe the replay showed Sam stepping on the back of LMJ's foot on that play. I think that's when he got dinged, but can't say for sure another hit didn't agravate it. Seems he played a while after.

I commend you on coming back and posting. However, you said you weren't going to make excuses. Excuses happen to make up most of you post.

1. Your "hardest hitting" LB would not have made a difference. Our OLine and FB/RBs were firing on all cylinders. Maybe in another game the team wouldn't have gelled as much and your LB would make the difference.

2. RR was hurt as well. It's apart of the game. Anyone who thinks that BM is faster than LMJ is retarded. However, it was a great play by BM to explode off the snap and get in the backfield right after the ball was handed off.

3. We played without RS and a QB that had practiced all the way up until a week before that game. Going in, this was a pretty even match up. Our D was great, but our O had questions...and vice versa for the Ducks.

LSU was missing the starting right OG (surgery) and the back up OG sprained ankle. So the running game was limited.

You got off easy on the running game.

And sure, some turnovers happened near your goal, so the LSU drives were short... but

One of those turnovers was your fault though. the freshman was spun by the defender, and the ball was not secure. replay shows the ball was not struck upon from behind. it just flipped up in the air when his body was twisted from behind by the defender.
That's on you.

LSU was missing its running QB JJ and its 2nd best offensive threat Shepard.

I think if the game were played again in the champ environment, if both teams are at full strength, and LSU does not have QB JJ due to legal issues, LSU wins by 5. Some of the Duck WR would get away from defenders. Few muffs. Even game.
LSU wins on even bigger run game, when Josh Williford is back at OG. Also WR Shepard will be back for the WV game.
He is comparable to your fast RB/WRs. not that great a pass catcher, but if we get him in space on a slant, wave buh bye.

My only issue is that I keep seeing Duck fans talk about DT having a bad game throwing the ball. If you watch this game closely he was under a lot of pressure every time he dropped back and those guys were pretty big and fast. When you have to get rid of the ball early it's likely the throws won't be as accurate.

I think the first TD on the punt return was a gift, saying it was forced out....eh not really. Then Oregon had a 3rd string guy in the game carrying the ball (did some of the guys have cramps at that point).

I think LSU took the D gameplan from OSU/Auburn, add that to the fact that Oregon just isn't as good this year on either side of the ball IMO and LSU had 7 months, not just 1 like in bowl games, and you have the recipe for a beatdown.

Props to the LSU coaching staff for shutting down the O, but it's been seen before and it was almost expected that Oregon would have to stop LSU from scoring more than 25.

and yes I think 2 of the 3 fumbles were about as giftwrapped as they get

well then I guess we should thank Oregon for their generosity. We surely would not have won otherwise.

We were told all off season that Oregon would be even bigger and better this season. I guess since LSU beat them, they actually sucked.

You really would try to make this about Ohio State. I thought we settled this in 2007.

We were way worse then last year. However it could also be that LSU is that incredible and made us look so bad. Only time will tell really which was the case.
Nice essay; thanks. And if it is any consolation, I believe your team is really good and will do well this year from here on. You just ran into a brick wall named LSU and that's about it. SEC football is what it's all about.

LSU also giftwrapped a turnover for Oregon at the 20 yard line, but Oregon only managed 3 points. Funny no duck fans bring that up

Nice to see you eat crow. I don't agree with somethings that you said(how your total yards are more, even though the last drive of the game is where that happened) but I'll just agree to disagree.

There is a difference between giveaways and takeawways. LSU fumbling the ball backwards on a audible is a giveaway. A takeaway would be forced fumbles which all were forced by our D. The only reason the stats look decent was the garbage points scored at the end of the game and when yall were down 13-33 and the game was already in hand in the 4th quarter. The last drive to scorce to make it 27-40 was completely insignificant and only for Oregon fans to look and say "hey look at the stats they got lucky with the fumbles"...which is complete bullshite for anyone objectively watching the game. Oregon's defense actually held their own for a while and i was impressed on certain drives. Everything we said was going to happen...happened and everything you thought was going to happen got completely disproved. We had our DEs running James and Barner down from behind with ease and not to mention them go down with knicks. Just imagine how you would far being this beat up playing week in and out with teams that are worth a shite? Yall got spanked on both lines of scrimmage as we were trying to tell you that our Defense was in a completely different class than Auburn..there is no comparison and you learned the hard way.
