What skillset exactly does Perkins possess other than straight line speed. He doesn't change direction quickly...he can't tackle...he has the football instinct of broccoli...and when he is used as a spy like vs Reed near the endzone in the A&M game, he looks at everything BUT the QB. Perkins has NO skillset other than looking great running around the field and basically making 0 plays.

Uh, Sellars didn't play the 2nd half of the KY game before LSU because they knocked him out of the game. If you watched the LSU game, Sellars was NOT nearly 100%. I watched him in the Alabama game and he WAS 100% in that later game. LSU got lucky that Sellars was still not recovered from the KY gam .where he got hurt.

What apparently you don't get is we are talking about 1 player the QB who is running the ball. Last I checked there are 11 players on LSU's defense who are SUPPOSED to be capable of tackling. That is the simple math and the difference.

Saban couldn’t defend running QB’s even when he was stockpiling 5*’s 3 deep. It’s why he ordered his thug to take out JD5, he had no answer for him.

Of course losing your QB of the front 7 ,Whit Weeks,and your most disruptive DLman,Gooden, made no difference on the Ds performance.FIRE EVERYONE and then we can complain about how the new coaches can’t coach.

The more and more comes out it seems like Kelly and Woodward were having a power struggle about woodwards meddling.
Reportedly Woodward told moffett he was “safe” when it should have been his call. Supposedly Brad Davis was a sticking point. Post articles talking about how this defensive staff had “significant Woodward input”

Your new HC will dismiss the entire asst coaching pool. He wiil bring his own coordinators and asst coaches.
That's just how it works. Its the asst coaches that have it the worst. Many of them have families that get to move often. Its a tough business for them.

I mean I get it that most coordinators in the country couldn't stop Daniels either, but it really is a problem that we can't stop ANY running QB.
Last year, Baker played zone, contained, and forced The Vandy QB to pass. This year, he played man and blitz.
If you can't disguise your zone's or blitz, you don't deserve to be a DC in the SEC. He loves to run blitz packages and play man, but too stupid to see the guys that blitz rarely do anything positive.
They either overrun the QB or just plain miss the tackle. Might as well run zone with different zone packages.
Damn, just run a "contain" rush and tell them to get their hands up.

Two weeks? What are you talking about? Baker has been at LSU for two years and that's plenty of time to correct the defense. On top of that, LSU signed a large group of defensive players from the portal and our defense is average at best.
