Just out of curiosity, how did your son end up at LSU considering Mainieri has had some issue getting kids from there in the past?

Did great work against Monster Zero in that game from 1965: LINK.

just my opinion but i thnk Ibarra plays SS, Bregman 3B, and Jacoby stays at 2nd.

McMullen starts in CF. If not CF, then maybe Rhymes/Katz/Moore could DH and he would play one of the corner OF spots.

As far as 1B, I think it will be Moore, with Katz in RF. For 1 i think Katz is a little small for 1B though he has played there before. 2 at the next level Katz will have to play a corner OF spot, and i think PM may give him a crack at that position to start because of that reason.

Stevenson/Laird, i think he'll work them in slow. McMullen being a JUCO guy that showed an excellent bat, i think he may be ready to play faster than the 2 FR. Sciambra is the mix there too.

This is what I was thinking too.

just seems like you let Jacoby focus on hit hitting and stay at the position he's been playing. Bregman being a FR...i know he's special but it may be asking too much to throw him at SS.

just let Ibarra play there. He seems to be a DEF specialist. Let him hit 9th and play defense.

It "appeared" during the fall that they like Bregman better at SS.

I remember reading some where that Mainieri liked him better on the right side of the infield, but I'll take your word for it.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of those three defensively though. Bregman and Jones can play 2B/SS while Ibarra can play SS/3B. That's three really good gloves that you can rotate.

I agree with all of this Lester. Our opinions differ slightly on some of the other stuff, but it is fun to be having these discussions again. I really want a speedy, athletic outfield this year.

Please stick around and discuss baseball with us during the season. Like I said earlier, although less than the football rantards, there are some Bozos on here during baseball, but the baseball posters are very knowledgeable for the most part.

That would be a Stevenson/Laird/Sciambra outfield.

If Rhymes could develop a little pop, then Mainieri would probably be more comfortable moving him back to DH.

Ibarra looked the best at 2nd. He was adequate at 3rd. Disappointed at what I saw at SS. I think it will be Bregman/Jones at SS.

I havent seen any of the new position players play besides McMullen...so i'll take your word.!
