it will tell us if our OL is serviceable and if Joe Burrow can pass.

I expect LSU to come out pretty "vanilla" on offense. not miles type vanilla; we will throw the ball but not as much as we intend on doing later. imo, our OL is still gonna be better at run blocking than pass blocking until we find a center and prove our tackles can protect the qb.

I believe our top 2 backs can run and if we can get first downs on the ground Miami is fricked. if they adjust and stack the box I feel, for the first time in years, that LSU is capable of adjusting and burning them via the air.

I think this because we have a defense that is stellar and they will keep us in the game while our offense figures it out. we have to use the clock by using our running game.

game will be close at the half. LSU will pull away and win.

I don't even think Bama would "Smoke" us. Sure they have the quarterback of the future, But we have the corner of the future in Greedy, Devin White isn't just a rusher. He could kill you in coverage also. I honestly think we have the talent to make it to the CFP. It all falls back on how good coaching is, And the level of confidence our young team has.

This is contrary to what O and E are saying they are going to do.

I think you are being fair. I think it’s basically a “ must- win” because of our later schedule and for psychological reasons, even if it is an OOC game. All the “ expert” picks will go to Miami and we will have to play with a chip on our shoulders to win. Not the worst position to be in . Miami should certainly have the attention of the LSU players.

Our offense takes a few games to get rolling but they will do jack squat against our defense. Tigers win and set the tone for the season.

Are you serious with this? They would have to be next level on offense for 4 quarters. Beyond retarded. MAYBE they win a close one if our offense is AWFUL and turns it over a bunch but you are totally ignoring one side of the ball.

The only insight that matters right now is since this game is on Sunday, I'm damn glad Monday is Labor Day because I will need a drink or two, win or lose, while watching.

LSU returns 45% of their starters from a team that went 9-4 last year in

Obviously this is why all of the “experts” are predicting such a down year. Do you thinktgey actually look into who is replacing the ones leaving, or they don’t dig as deep and just assume we will be worse? In my opinion, we are returning 44% of our guys, but mostly getting upgrades from positions leaving.

Here's what I think. I think Miami will struggle to run but knowing Mark R he will at least attempt to run the ball bc that's just what he believes in. I think this will put the QB in pressure situations and LSU will take advantage. As you said their OL struggled against anyone with a pulse on the DL. Ours happens to be very good.

I also think LSU will be able to run the ball on their DL since it's one of their weaker spots coming into this season. I think Steve E is very very good at calling plays to keep the defense guessing and off balanced as he did in 2016. I'm hoping that Joe Burrow gains the trust of Steve E enough for Steve to trust him with the football in pressure type situations.

I just think this guy is one of those QBs that doesn't panic, ever. Which is exactly what you want in your QB. The guy just sees the field better than anyone we've had in a very long time. I think Steve E wanted this guy bc it will fit what he wants to do at LSU perfectly. An accurate QB, who is a natural leader on and off the field. Someone who is smart throwing the football but can also take off for 10 to 15 yards when he wants.

I'll bet big money that when LSU signed this QB, Mark R wasn't very excited about that addition. I think he knew he had a very big adavantage with our younger guys and he was going to put immense pressure on them to cause TOs and he may still try it but I don't think he will be so willing or as comfortable doing it. I wouldn't be.

Unless the game was a night game at Hard Rock at 8pm with people actually in the stands Miami didn’t look particularly good in any game last year. Squeaked out a win against the worst FSU team in the last 20 years, needed a miracle to beat Georgia Tech in the rain and STRUGGLED with at 3-9 North Carolina team. Anyone who believes we will blow them out or vise versa is mistaken but they certainly weren’t a juggernaut last year and had no business in the CFP convo. Should be a hell of a dog fight.
