W, basically this question gets posed at least a dozen times a season. that is why you have recieved so many
responses. people are just tired of answering it.

I don't what's so hard to understand (or to explain -everyone else) about this tradition. First of all, you're thinking way too hard about it. Second, a tradition is what it is anyway, and who the hell are we to question it.
