Ticket cost for Friday's game $75 for General Admission

The only price I can find for a general admission ticket online for Friday's session is $75 per ticket (not including fees which will get it close to $100 a ticket). Is this something new or am I searching wrong websites? Searched all the main ones (ticketmaster, vivid, etc.) including the SEC Official Website and they all seem to be posting "Verified Resale Ticket". I have been going to this tournament for a few years and cannot remember ever paying much more than $20-$30 for a general admission ticket any of the days. Anyone have any tips or is this just the new norm?

I fully expect Kade Anderson to pitch. You’re paying $75 to watch a top 3 pick in the MLB draft on Friday. When you look at it that way doesn’t sound all that bad. You can really thank single elimination for the price increase.

Something for you to consider: by the time LSU plays on Friday evening 11 of the 16 teams who start the tournament will have already been eliminated (single elimination, remember?).
It's safe to assume many of the fans of those teams will be heading home so they won't be using the remaining tickets they bought in the ticket books.
Three of those teams will be eliminated earlier in the day on Friday.
If you're so inclined to wait outside the stadium as those fans leave, you can ask them if they want to sell their remaining tickets. Or, you can hold up a sign saying you want to buy tickets.
I'm guessing you can get a good price for buying their unused tickets.

I was lucky and bought the Dr Pepper 6 pack for 6 any session tickets $86
However, you missed that deal but if you went to the stadium right after the morning session, you could snatch some then really cheap.

No different than attending a game at the box, resale prices are 3x face value.

Appreciate the advice. That's my intention, to just buy tickets at the stadium and hope for a somewhat normal price. I've always enjoyed the tournament due to it being so cost effective for a family and easy to get around the city. A few dollar increase I can understand but almost $60 a ticket increase in one year seems insane to me.

Well when you consider the fact that you could have done the same any other Friday of the year for $10, it doesn't seem like such a great deal anymore...

It is different than the past years at Hoover. That is what my question is directed to.

I went to the finals last year for way cheaper, and watched skenes pitch the year before for cheaper

Geez I was hoping to take the family (5 of us) since we live right down the road.
No way I'm dropping 400 bucks though. Expected 150 or so.

This year should be no different than years past. Just walk up to the ticket booth at the stadium and purchase your general admission tickets for $15 or whatever it is this year.
No reason to purchase from resale.
No reason to purchase from resale.

This is what I am going with but will be very upsetting if the $75-$85 General Admission price is accurate.

I took my wife and one daughter to the Sunday finale against Tennessee. Baseball isn't a cheap family outing anymore

Show up at stadium and buy a general admission ticket at gate. Nonsense to spend 75 dollars online for a ticket to this tournament. I know they will have tickets and they will not turn people away. If you were here last year for Tennessee championship then you already know that. Same thing for family of five. I grew up in Hoover. I have been going to this tournament for 15 years. Don’t pay that for a ticket. Also chances are you will be able to find tickets outside the stadium on Friday. Lots of teams eliminated and last game Friday night.

Truth. Yes we were there last year. Bought all my tickets online for the week and had no issues with drastic price increases. Guess just had some sticker shock when going online this year. But yeah I’ll be buying my tickets at the stadium for sure.

At the championship game last year, I walked up to the ticket office with my 12 year old when a policeman handed me 2 tickets and told me to enjoy the game. Nice! General admission tickets were $15.

Wait til you see LSU ticket prices at the CWS in Omaha.

Ticketmaster is handling the sale of SEC Baseball Tourney Tickets.
I bought two tickets this morning for the Arkansas / LSU games (Session 6) on Friday.
$20 per ticket plus about $8 in fees, so $48

Russian, while your post is basically correct, I am adding this to alleviate any confusion.
Only one team will be eliminated on Friday prior to the LSU game. Arkansas will play Friday at 3pm and the loser goes home. The Texas and Vandy games are actually Thursday, so the loser of those two games will be gone by Thursday night. Those losing fans will probably not be at the ballpark on Friday. But you are correct that 11 teams will be gone before the LSU game starts.

That’s cheap. Take it.
During the season, road tickets vs SEC opponents were routinely over $100 per ticket.
