Sounds like he threw mostly fastballs until he fatigued.

No spin rates. But the MPH display now shows to the 100th decimal place which honestly feels like too much. But it’s nice to know that Skenes hit 97.24 a couple times.

Hurd can spin it, too. Fastball is right around 95 with plenty spin and he has an absolute hammer slider. Jay's probably gonna throw him against Crews, too.

Thanks for the concern about my family. I not only have my wife and baby out of Ukraine but also my 16 year old step son. We were concerned he would be drafted, so his Dad finally let him leave.

I enjoy contributing here, so I enjoy doing the PBP. I do miss a little of the action with my one thumb messaging on my phone, but no worries. I grew up playing football, so there are nuances of baseball that still elude me. I don't mind a little criticism of how I'm doing PBP if it makes it better for everyone.

Just a little run down of what I saw. None of the returning players stood out to me as better or worse than last year. The exceptions would maybe be Stevenson, who looked better. Milazzo and Tre seem to be over there injuries.

Some random thoughts on the newcomers. White looked pretty good at 3B. Skenes pitched better than his stats. His throws have movement. Moffett could probably play linebacker for LSU. Frey runs pretty good but looks like a freshmen. Neal is about the same size as Milazzo but obviously has some power in his bat. Nippolt hit the ball hard and sprayed it around. I can see him hitting .300. Kling ran down a fly ball from RF and had a shot of throwing Milazzo out at 3B who tagged up from 2B. Thompson cut it off, so we will never know. I think he also had the furthest hit ball tonight as well. The tools are special. Frey didn't catch tonight but played a lot of 1B. Jones looked good catching but did muff one. I think Paul is ahead of Ruddell but I don't think either plays much this year. Tre spent 2 innings in the OF. Guidry has the confidence but didn't get any chances to see what he can do defensively. There might be a little learning curve at the plate but his discipline and patient approach seemed pretty good for a freshmen. Bucknams stats were terrible but I think we will see better from him moving forward. DH is going to be crowded.

Seemed like Merrifield had a hell of a day.
