This. Best ever. Shame he played for the Lions.

Think it might be wiser to revisit this question in about ten years.

Barry Sanders is the BEST RUNNER in the open field in NFL history, but he is far from the best RUNNING BACK ever. Why did he come out on 3rd downs and inside the 5 yard line? He was a horrible receiver and could not block your granny. That is why Thurman Thomas started ahead of him at Okie St and I would take Walter Payton over Sanders anyday, because he could do it all. Same could be said for many other all-time great RBs.

Ok...assume you get to choose between the college versions for a college game!

Which one do you think is the latter?

Barry and thermal by a long shot but fournette could be right up there with em when it's all said and done

The Thurmanator and Sanders were durable because they largely avoided contact. Fournette runs like Eric Dickerson...looking for the big hit most of the time. It's impressive to watch but it's gonna play Hell on LFs durability long term.

If Bo Jackson could have played longer, he would be the best running back of all time. He was unstoppable (especially in Tecmo Bowl.)
