Funny, I recall about 9 defensive starters being out, and a WR playing CB.

Holy crap if we had Chassion all year. 2018 could have been much much different. Who knows what type of confidence he could have brought to that defense if he would have been the sack machine he was looking to be.

He alone could have caused a sack, fumble, QB hurry turned into an interception that wins the Florida and T A&M games. If we stay healthy all year in 2019 this will be a scary good team with the most depth we’ve had in a very long time.

I don’t think Little will be ready next season but he RS’s and beefs up quite a bit as be very well can and some how Chassion returns for his senior season 2020 could be another championship season. Things are definitely looking up folks. Our WR group is the best it’s been since 2005 and 2006. We’ve added some skill at RB. Veteran QB coming back. Veteran OL coming back. Veteran DL and LBs coming back. It’s lookihg good.

Then you had the ignorance of their LB, Randy Charlton. UCF already had a 14-3 lead with just over 4 minutes left in the first quarter, when they sacked Burrow to force a 4th down. Numb nuts goes and spikes the football right in front of the officials and gives the Tigers new life. We saw what happened from there.

All I know is Joe Burrow took that blindsided hit from their DL, bled a little, got back in and proceeded to own their assess

their quarterback was horrible and still scored 30+ points. So a Heisman trophy candidate quarterback doesn’t make a difference on avoiding pass rush, getting the ball out quick, etc. LSU is self proclaimed DBU therefore having a few DBs out is not that big of a deal. The pass rush was what made the difference in the game as I recall. With that said, the quarterback position for UCF was the most exposed position on the field. No two ways around it. . OK I see.

A few? We were playing wide receivers as DB's that game.

Nope, their offense scored 25 points. They had a pick six. Add to that another 3 points off of a Justin Jefferson fumble of a punt after which UCF gained 0 yards on 3 plays then kicked a field goal. The QB was 11/30 with 97 yards and 1 TD but also threw 1 int and 1 fumble lost. They had a total of 250 yards on offense in the game, more than half of that rushing.

The biggest reason this game was close IMO was the inability of LSUs offense to finish drives again. Settled for 4 field goal after getting to the 10 yard line or closer. Also, LSU didn’t score any red zone TD, all plays of 22 yards or longer. Our only other red zone trip ended with a 93 yard pick six. That needs to improve this year, I am cautiously optimistic.
