Three-Way Tiebreaker Update

As has been stated, if LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss win out, with the exception of LSU defeating Alabama, all 3 will finish at 7-1 and the pertinent tie-breaker will be the Eastern Division Opponent Records.
Yes, this assumes that Ole Miss beats Georgia.
LSU: Missouri (current 3-1, projected 6-2 (Georgia)) and Florida (current 3-1, projected 4-4, (Arkansas)). Projected: 10-6
Alabama: Tennessee (current 2-2, projected 4-4 (Georgia and Missouri)) and Kentucky (current 2-2, projected 4-4 (Alabama and Tenn) Projected 8-8
Ole Miss: Georgia (current 4-0, projected 7-1 (Ole Miss)) and Vandy (current 0-4, projected 0-8). Projected 7-9
We are still tracking to win the 3-way tie breaker.
Yes, I know you think none of this will matter after Ole Miss loses to Georgia.

What is going to hurt if we lose to Bama is how close they were to having two SEC losses to A&M and Tennessee.

Good luck with that
Not sure what you mean. Care to elaborate?

What really hurts is that we were up 49-40 on Ole Miss and let it get away to 55-49, then we had the winning TD pass in a receiver’s hands on the last play.

Win out and we are going to Atlanta. Nothing goes as projected. Just win baby.
Ole Miss isn’t that good. Bama throttled them after playing horrible and we gave up 700yds.
No way they finish with one loss.

Doesn’t hurt as much now that Bama has zero SEC losses. It would have really hurt if they had two right now

It’s pretty clear that if Ole Miss loses to Georgia the only tie-breaker in play will be the result of the LSU-Alabama game. This thread is for those who wish to consider what might happen in the extremely unlikelihood that Ole Miss prevails.

I put together something showing what I think are the two most likely scenarios if this ends in a three-way tie.
In either scenario, LSU wins. And, of course, wild things can happen in any game.
Fixed result to account for an Ole Miss loss to Georgia

Need to put in losses to Ole Miss for Georgia in order for there to be a 3-way tie.
If Georgia wins out, then it’s the head-to-head result of LSU-Alabama.

ETA: the outcome is the same, however.
Also, Ole Miss could lose to Moo State instead of Georgia.

Here is how we stand on 29-Oct.
Recall if LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss win out, with the exception of LSU defeating Alabama, all 3 will finish at 7-1 and the pertinent tie-breaker will be the Eastern Division Opponent Records.
Yes, this assumes that Ole Miss beats Georgia.
LSU: Missouri (current 3-1, projected 6-2 (loss vs Georgia)) and Florida (current 3-2, projected 4-4, (win vs Arkansas)). Projected: 10-6
Alabama: Tennessee (current 3-2, projected 4-4 (loss to Georgia and Missouri)) and Kentucky (current 2-3, projected 4-4 (loss to Alabama) Projected 8-8
Ole Miss: Georgia (current 5-0, projected 7-1 (loss to Ole Miss)) and Vandy (current 0-5, projected 0-8). Projected 7-9
We are still tracking to win the 3-way tie breaker.

Great job putting this together. Vandy being a Black Bear opponent is really dragging them down.

I think it’s also worth pointing out than since UF and Mizzou still play each other that’s a guaranteed seventh win as a floor. Both schools still play Arkansas as well.

Alabama: Tennessee (current 3-2, projected 4-4 (loss to Georgia and Missouri)) and Kentucky (current 2-3, projected 4-4 (loss to Alabama) Projected 8-8
Being conservative and calling the UT/Mizzou game a toss up, the projected ceiling for Bama’s opps is 9-7 which would create a tie.
However, my understanding (please correct me if I’m wrong) is that the three way tie breaker would eliminate Ole Miss in that scenario, becoming a two-way tiebreaker where LSU beats Bama head-to-head
